I am almost at the 90-day mark on my endless journey. I found that my domain recently ranked #1 on Google Bing and Yahoo. I am excited to see progress even at a snail's pace. My site traffic is also not as bountiful as I had hoped, regardless it Is only the beginning.

I have noticed that social media forums did not increase traffic enough in a noticeable fashion. But I did notice the quantity of traffic fluctuates with the quantity of new content I produce. None of my articles made it to the first two pages of google and that makes a huge difference in the outcome of my results.

I am comparing my stats from the first 50 days to the second 50 days to observe trends then I am figuring out how to adapt to any declines. Still not sure when I will see my first $1, I am definitely trying to make this the best site to access for the information in my niche.

One of the sure-fire ways to build traffic is to push out content. Bottom line. So early on, even though the pull to look up and down our analytics is an appealing one, fight it and instead of spending time analyzing, find the questions your target audience is searching for and publish more content.

Do research before you publish, publish, share, get comments, then into researching the next. Save all the analysis for much, much later once your traffic is building and you have a good understanding of what works :)

This is a great idea, Eric I have been having trouble writing so much content because I just do not know what else to say. My niche is fashion clothes and shoes for men women boys and girls. You would think there would be tons to talk about, but I wanted to be the reminder of forgotten common sense traditions, and long-forgotten habits in style and fashion that are still around making fashion more practical and less derogatory.

So while I may have mastered how to review a specific product in my niche and recommend odd but more efficient ways to use that product; it is a bit hard to write about something that is not a review. So I am learning how to generate articles that are basically fun facts about fashion and style. It is a weird angle and I am not pro status yet, not by a long shot. But my goal is to have my readers say "yo I never thought of that" or "I'm going to have to try that".

What a cool topic - I'm really interested in 1950's fashion because the styles are very flattering for curvy women. It's the whole outfit, with gloves, stockings, shoes, hairstyle. So that's a whole topic in itself!
You could compare 1950's fashion to 1960's fashion and show the transformation (curvy to skinny). What about the 1980's - shoulder pads - aaagh!
Bow ties always look great on men. What about hats? Different styles of hats suit different types of heads from ascot, beret, boater to fedoras and top hats. Women look amazing in fascinators - what's the popular style today?
Today fashion is casual but back in the day formality was the name of the game. Women didn't go out without their hat and gloves. Handbags are super popular. Find affiliate programs that offer those retro style clothes.
Anyway, I won't go on! Hope some of that helped.
Cheers, Alisa (what shall I wear today!)

Oh my gosh, you are amazing!!! I never thought of that. and I love the fedoras!!! I need to look at some 50s styles. I have seen the changes between the 60s light colors and the 70s dark colors back the 80s bright colors with patterns in my previous review, but I did not know about the change from curvy to slim. As an 80s baby, I am familiar with 80s shoulder pads that, now that I think about it, are subsiding more and more in women's clothes I do see the change from lowrider jeans back to high wasted jeans from one of my previous articles but I did not evaluate if we are slowly segwaying back to curvy women. I have not tried to speak about accessories because there are so many to choose from but you are not the first person to recommend that I emphasize the accessories that make the outfit pop.

I think I have 15 or so affiliate programs related to clothes and shoes. I got them by accident because the tech support guy at CJ affiliate was in control of about 8 of them. Then because of that, I started getting requests for clothing lines. I cannot add enough links to my site from all of these programs.

If you see my site fashionabletrends.org you will see the 6 categories in "The Fashion Store" where I hold all of my links to all of the products I will or have reviewed. I have to make time to add more links to each category. Adding accessories to the fold would be a great idea, I was afraid to do it at first because I thought it would get to be a bit chaotic but if I add those programs to my collection I can slowly add accessories to my site as well. This might create a new wing in The Fashion Store!

Wow! You've got a lot of great content on your site with links to some very cool fashion.

Some thoughts: change the background from black to white. It's very difficult to read white on black.

You could also add more internal links from the blog posts to your sales pages, e.g. What is Silk Fabric? You could link this to luxury lines of fashion.

The front page opens with a stunner of an image (love floral men's fashion and women in sequins!) - how about creating blocks below this with images and links to the blog content and the shop?

All the best with a fun topic!
Alisa
