“I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have.”
“I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have.” – Thomas Jefferson
Have you ever met someone who seems to always be in the right place at the right time? They land the dream job, stumble into great opportunities, or magically “get lucky” with the things they try. It’s easy to assume they’ve just been blessed by the universe… but Thomas Jefferson’s famous quote reminds me of something important: luck often shows up after we’ve put in the work.
When I hear the word luck, I usually picture something random — like winning the lottery or finding money on the sidewalk. But this quote pushes me to rethink what luck really is. Maybe luck isn’t an accident at all. Maybe it’s something we actually create by showing up consistently, trying again when things fail, learning new skills, and putting our energy into the things that matter.
Was finding WA just luck!!
Or was it because of my search for something that would increase my potential and give me a hope for the future.
Think about it: when you work hard, you naturally increase your chances of success. You meet more people. You try more ideas. You learn from more mistakes. You put yourself in situations where good things can happen. Suddenly, what looks like luck from the outside is really the result of dozens of small, intentional efforts behind the scenes.
This idea is incredibly empowering because it means we’re not just spectators in our own lives. We’re active participants. We don’t have to wait for luck — we can build it.
So, the next time someone tells you you’re “so lucky,” take it as a compliment. It means your hard work is visible. And if you feel like luck hasn’t been on your side lately, remember that every bit of effort you put in is quietly stacking the odds in your favour.
Work hard. Stay curious. Keep showing up. That’s how luck finds you.

Hi Peter!
Thanks for the great reminder that when we put in the time and the effort we create our own luck!
Wishing you the very best!
Kind regards,
Nichola
Thanks Nichola. Sometimes we don't realise how much we can change our future by our actions.
Keep pushing on and create your luck.
You are welcome Peter! Indeed, it is our actions that create changes! Thank you!
Nichola
It's why we should never eradicate our history. We have to learn from what was said and done so we can give ourselves a better future.

Hi dear, I have built my previous business on this mentality, thinking that working hard = more success.
With time, I understood this is a SCARCITY MENTALITY. And now, I totally reject it.
It is not working hard, the key! It's your ability to set INTENTIONS and be COHERENT with those intentions. Believing in them no matter what.
Of course, we need to work to move the needle. But not with a sacrifice spirit.
The Universe is based on the energy we EMIT, so if you emit scarcity, you will receive according to that vibe.
Hi Suomii,
I appreciate your perspective. Intention really does matter, and I’ve seen in my own life how much difference it makes when my heart and my work are pointed in the same direction. Things seem to move smoother and with more purpose.
For me, hard work and intention go together.
The intention gives the work meaning, and the work is what puts feet to the intention.
I think we all create our own kind of “luck” in different ways — through mindset, through effort, through faith, or sometimes all three working together.
Thanks for sharing your view. It's always good to see how different paths still aim toward the same hope.

Yeah Mike, I agree, everyone should discover his / her own path!
Anyway, there are some self-sabotages to our path that we are keeping putting in place as an never ending loop.
So it is important to be aware of the distinction between "working hard because I believe in my power" and "working hard because I am afraid of failing".
That's a huge difference!
Hi Suomii,
That’s a really good distinction — working from confidence versus working from fear can look the same on the outside, but feel very different on the inside.
And you’re right, being aware of our own patterns and motivations is an important part of the journey.
Thanks again for adding your insight to the conversation.
It’s interesting how each of us approaches growth from a different angle, but we’re all aiming toward the same thing — a better future.
Mike G
You welcome dear Mike, we all are constantly evolving for our best! :)
Thank you so much Suomii for sharing your perspective — I really appreciate it. 😊
I actually don’t see hard work and intention as opposites. To me, they work best together. Intentions give us direction, clarity, and purpose… but the actions we take are what turn those intentions into something real.
My post wasn’t meant to promote a “sacrifice” or scarcity mindset. I completely agree that burning ourselves out or working from fear is not the path to meaningful success.
What I was trying to express is that opportunities tend to show up more often when we’re actively moving, learning, and growing not just waiting for luck to arrive on its own.
In my experience, intention sets the vibration… but consistent effort keeps us aligned with it. When we take steps toward what we want, even small ones, we naturally place ourselves in more situations where good things can happen. And from the outside, that can look like luck.
So I think we’re actually saying similar things, just from different angles:
Believe deeply in your direction, stay coherent with your intentions, and take inspired action to meet the opportunities that come.
Thanks again for your thoughtful comment. I love these kinds of discussions because they help all of us see things from new perspectives.
Yes, I agree!!! We are saying exactly the same thing! But I thought it was important to underline the difference between power and fear, mainly for those who approach this business out of despair, as a quick solution!
Let's say focused and awake! :)
