How long will it take?

At the time of writing i've been a WA member for two days soaking up all the quality information and training.

One of the common questions appears to be how long will it take to start earning money?.

The truthful answer is i don't know.. BUT i wanted to impart some of my experience running a traditional 'offline' business which has some things in common with what is taught here.

I started my business smack bang in the middle of the recession.. not my brightest idea I have to say!.
I took the 'sales' person from the company i worked at, employed a long term friend, gave them shares in the business and off we went to conquer the world..

or so i thought..

Anyway, the company started in a specific 'niche' Digital Signage.. after trying to make a go of it for two long hard years it failed at the end of 2013.. i managed to 'reboot' the business with just 7 days before we had to close the doors for good.

By reboot, i mean we changed Niches.. quickly! i let the salesperson and my friend go (we''re still mates!) bought them out of their shares, took another salesperson on (stepson of my main investor) and off we went to conquer the world.. again!

So the company now Installs Audio Visual systems (something i've got over 25 years experience in), our main 'niche' is health and fitness where we get 80% of our business from and we have doubled turnover year on year since 'reboot'.

So what i'm trying to say is.. if at first you don't succeed.. try again.

Try a new niche, change things about, test new ideas. and write everything down.. keep a log of what works & what doesn't.

I'm hopeful that i can translate what i've learnt over the past 5 years in my offline business to my new online business and vice versa.

Interesting times lay ahead.
