My WA Story So Far
What progress have I made since I joined WA? I suppose if I think back about six weeks I was still looking for a way to make Internet Marketing work for me. I had dabbled in a few schemes some 2/3 years ago (with a modicum of success) and attended various seminars. In the last few months I have got into the t-shirt sales fad. The more I looked into this I realized I could design shirts that sell, but trying to make any real money from this is hard, as it is the affiliates (aka the ones who drive traffic) who earn the bigger bucks.
I had worked out that I needed to drive traffic, but did not want to invest a bottomless pit of cash into Google and Facebook ads. I had decided that using a monetized website sending traffic not only to my tshirts but also other relevant affiliate products would be the way ahead. I decided on a niche, and quickly bought a domain and a hosted WordPress site. But once I had the basic site up I struggled to find any order or structure to how I should move forward. So this is where WA comes in.
I stumbled across WA through various internet searches one morning, and after spending a few hours researching and looking at (honest) feedback decided to take the plunge. I’m glad I did!
What I like about WA is the step by step approach. I, like many others I suppose, had tended to overlook the importance of building up integrity and trust in what I was putting out there, becoming disappointed if I didn’t make a quick ROI and see some signs my efforts were worthwhile. What I’ve learned is to focus on making a website that is actually useful to people, and when the time is right, and I’ve built up many informative (and hopefully entertaining) posts, can then start to consider earning from it.
So, although it’s early days, my website, www.photographiccomposition.com is up and running, and I’m fairly pleased with it so far. Getting comments has been a big boost, and obviously being part of the WA community helps with this. I love the feeling that we are all in this together and everyone appears to genuinely want everyone to succeed.
My biggest challenge is finding the time and energy to commit to this as much as I want to. Like a lot of people reading this, I have a busy working life which I would give up in an instant to do IM full time if I didn’t have the bills to pay. So sometimes it is hard after a long and tiring day to summon up the will to turn on the laptop and produce my next masterpiece. But, I realise, momentum is important, and if I really want to escape the rat race it’s something I must do. If anyone else has similar challenges and has come up with some strategies to make this easier I would be eager to learn!
So my goals over next 3 to 6 months are not especially focused on the monetary side. I am of the opinion that if I focus my attention on building a successful site that people can find in Google and interact with the posts, then some financial gain should follow.

I can empathise the busy life. What you are doing is great as you are making foundation for passive income. And it is so good that you can buy time while you are busy earning elsewhere. Keep adding content and keep taking training whenever you have spare cycles. Give yourself 8 -10 months and you could have built the business already.

You've come a long and and put a great deal of thought into your process. I completely agree that the process here is excellent in helping to train our approach to building a credible, lasting, interactive site that will bring the rewards we want.
As with most things in life, you get out what you put in. Keep up the good work and congratulations on what you've built so far!
