LSI Keywords

As I attempt to wrap my mind around the LSI keyword concept, a few questions come to mind.

If i find LSI keywords related to my basic keyword, will they have similar traffic and competition as my basic keyword because they are related? I think not and I suspect they will have to be researched for traffic and competition as well.

Does Google instant give acceptable LSI keywords using the alphabet soup technique or is it limited?

I notice that Wordpress at WA does not seem to offer an LSI keyword plugin or tool. Or none that I could find. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

If you type a broad keyword whether in the Google Instant, the WA keyword tool, Jaaxy, Ehow, Yahoo Answers or Ubbersuggest, all those will give LSI keywords (related keywords). We can also find more keywords in the WA keyword tool by clicking on "dig."

We also use LSI keywords naturally within our content. But yeah, it really helps to have quality keywords within H tags throughout our content. Writing great content and using the above tools above will give you unlimited LSI's, no plugin needed. :)

H tags? You mean in the php code itself? Do you have an example of an H tag?

Thanks.

You can easily format it in the WordPress Editor by clicking on the toolbar toggle to the top right in the visual section and then going on the bottom left where it says paragraph. If you click on the arrow pointing down, it will give you options to format your text (Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, etc.) Heading 1 (H1) is the default tag for each title of your blog post. Then you want to use this in order and I usually use H3 tags.

For example, if you go to Kyle's site and click on one of his blog post (http://waystoavoidscamsonline.com/how-do-keywords-work-not-so-confusing-afterall) then I just right click and scroll down where it says "View Page Source", I then see that he used Paragraph- the automatic default formatting and H3 tags.

Hi Doug,

No, you cannot assume that similar keywords will have the same traffic. Even if they are highly related, every keyword will perform differently.

If you are considering LSI when choosing keywords I'd say that you're overthinking things a bit.

Alphabet soup is an awesome way to find keywords related to your niche. You can then plug them into Jaaxy or the WA keyword tool and get further info about them including the estimated searches and competition (QSR).
