WA, wasting my time and money?

Hey everyone!

It’s been a while since my last post so I wanted to take some time today and write an update on my experience and thoughts of WA thus far.

If I haven't mentioned it before, I came across my sponsor and WA by accident about a month ago. Although, my sponsor is very active in WA there isn't a lot that I really need from him at this time. And once I started my training and exploring WA I admit I thought to myself....

What did I just get myself into?

As a college graduate with a degree in economics, I analyze and research a LOT before I start or commit to something. I often find myself comparing WA and my experience here with how my life was as a college student. My view of WA is now similar to my view of college.

While attending college you have to pay for the courses you are taught. Some courses (and professors) are great and exciting while some are useless but required. Either way you have to pay for every course and successfully pass them to graduate. Only then are you presented with the opportunity to begin your career.

At first, I viewed my sponsor as one of those professors. The only thing was that I came across my sponsor by accident. So it was like starting college for the 1st time in the wrong class. It was a great and fun new experience that I want to be a part of but this particular course was not really helpful to me.

Over the past 3 weeks I have come upon other sponsors pages through my research for my postings. Some of them specialize in niches that I am interested in so naturally I came back to WA and looked them up. I reached out to them to ask general questions (In my opinion success is only limited to a persons will to succeed).

Unfortunately, I haven't heard back from any of them. Which is fine because they are not my sponsor and they have no obligation to do so.

This is when I realized that I had given sponsors the wrong job description.

New job title, admission's personnel. So I decided a WA sponsor is more like the admission's department in a college. They give you information about the college and courses (in this case niches you are interested in) and let you know there are ways to make money in your area of interest.

Gone Fishing...

When a person is deciding to go to college they choose specific colleges they want to attend, take a tour, choose a school, register for courses and pay the 1st semester of tuition.

In WA, your sponsor get's you interested in WA by giving you examples of how you can make money, online or in a niche that interest you. You take a "tour" also known as your free trial. At the end of the free trial you choose to attend WA and pay your "tuition," monthly, 6 months, or year subscription.

Then, your sponsors job as an admission's personnel is complete.

Hook, Line.... and Sinker?

Now, for a sponsor to keep getting paid their job changes to retention specialist.

The National Center For Education Statistics shows that over 40 percent of college students dropout their 1st year. 75 percent of college graduates pursue a career in something other than their major. I am one of those 75 percent. However, by the time a student graduates from college the college couldn't care less what the student does with their life because the college gets paid either way.

Now, I haven't gotten to the ambassador portion of the WA training so I am not sure what the retention rate is for WA members (maybe someone can leave a comment and let me know). For this post I am going to go with the average college drop out rate of over 40 percent.

What this means for a sponsor is that for every 10 members that sign up at least 4 or more of them will not stay with WA. So, the sponsor needs to check in make sure the person stays motivated and convinced they made the right choice.

SUCCESS!

At my graduation commencement there was only 1 thing that I remembered someone saying. They said "Welcome to the 5%!" Wow... that really made me rethink what my degree meant or didn't mean in respect to the "big picture."

Only 5% of the human population will ever obtain a bachelors degree. Was the 5 1/2 years of putting myself in tens of thousand of dollars of debt worth being in that 5%? Especially now looking back 5 years later and I didn't even have a career in economics. ABSOUTELY!

Success isn't about a sponsor what they do or don't do here at WA. As I mentioned before, I believe that success is limited only to a persons will to succeed. I was successful at completing my degree which allowed me to become a successful business owner.

Life happens and I had to step away from my business for a while. I am redirecting my focus on my niche and the success I will obtain through WA. There are so many resources here for everyone. When I was a student and I struggled in a course I reached out to other students for assistance. Some students could are less and were only focused on their own success while others were extremely helpful.

WA is the same way. Some people are only focused on their own success and others want to succeed together. Find the people that have similar interest and reach out to them when you need help. Help those that you can and together we can all be successful. WA and affiliate marketing is a niche of its own in this money making world of the internet. Yes, we have to pay to learn and grow but its only a waste of time if YOU choose to do nothing with the resources you are given.

WA is a unique opportunity to learn, grow and be a part of a successful group of individuals who monetize electronically on a global level. I won't be the fastest person to make money online. I can only commit to this part-time. But, I will be consistent and I will help and assist others along the way.

I have already learned more and have done more online building and creating my niche website in these 3 weeks then what I struggled to do with my business website over the past 3 years. Luckily for me my business didn't rely on the success of failure of my website.

If you have made it all the way through my post thank you for reading. If you are questioning whether you should stay with WA and you really want to find a way to make money online I would say YES! Stay with WA. Commit to 6 months or a year and see where it gets you. I tell the engages couples I counsel effort = success. I believe that statement applies in everything you do.

Good luck and I wish you great success with WA!

Well, today I learned there are sponsors? Guess I'll research that next! Great insight throughout this post! Thank you!

Hey Fitzy!
Happy Friday! :) The "sponsors" I am referring to are WA ambassadors.

I have read a few posts and questions from others on here about the sponsors who's websites got them to join WA only to realize they were speaking about ambassadors.

I should have pointed that out... there's always something I can learn. :)

I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the holiday.

Always good to hear from you.

Steph

Thanks for your post!

Hi Shellback,

Your welcome! Thank you for serving our country! If I wasn't afraid of fish and being surrounded by nothing but water I might have joined the Navy instead of the Air Force.

I have a brother that just retired Army Airborne Infantry that lives in the pacific northwest. It's beautiful up there!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

Steph

Well now...Thank you Steph..and your brother as well for serving! Always great to meet another comrade-in-arms. A good holiday weekend to you as well.

I've been a part of WA for 3 years now. I'm one of those ones who do my own thing but know that I always have my WA resources available when I have a question. I love this community, their support, their web hosting, everything! I've never regretted my investment in WA! Just know that you have to work to succeed - there's no instant riches. Patience and dedication is the key!

Good luck, Steph!

Hi Ccavagnaro,

Thank you for your comment! I agree with you 100% you do have to work to succeed. I am looking forward to when I can say that I have been apart of WA for 3 years.

I tell everyone that the annual cost of WA, with all its magnificent training is less than ONE semester long college class! Well worth the investment, in my opinion!

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Yes, I agree, worth the investment. Thanks for reading my post and leaving a comment.

Have a great Friday!

Steph
