I have been doing affiliate marketing since June 2009, before that I did web design and other IT related jobs. I worked 8 years I was IT manager for an Oil & Gas company in Moscow (the one in Russia). That was a great experience for me as I got to run the department pretty much how I wanted, and I tell you we were not too far off from being the IT Crowd!
After my daughter was born I decided Russia was no longer the place for me and moved the whole family to Australia (we have actually started visa applications back in 2007 long before my wife was even pregnant!).
Leaving the security of a very well paid job on September 3rd 2008 was not the easiest thing, but I fell back on web design and kept a few sites for various companies on my books. These paid OK, but it’s a pain working for other people all the time.
Amazingly I did not really know what affiliate marketing was back then, it was only really when I joined WA in June 2009 that it became clear to me that you could make money selling other peoples products.
Since then I have launched many different sites, in numerous niches, they have just about all made money though some less than others!
I have used numerous tools over the years, and tested countless programs. I can say 90% of IM products are garbage, but there are some jewels out there. Some of which I would not live without these days.
I have been a heavy user of SEnuke since August 2009, and I have gained a good reputation over on the official forums (where I believe I became the first non-staff moderator… so don’t say anything bad or I will edit your comments!!).
In November 2010 I was asked to take part in the beta testing of SEnuke X, which I did right up until its launch in April 2011. I still have the developers on SkyPE and talk with them quite often.
I also did almost all of the link checking for xIndexer product, which is a tool that helps to index your pages.
I would not advocate using any of these tools though until you are making money doing things the traditional way first. Tools only automate the manual process, so if you can't get things working by hand then the tools are not going to help you.
If you have any questions about IM just ask, please try and be specific… oh and be prepared for a multi –thousand word response… I am well known for going on a bit!
