Hi there, glad you stopped by!!!

I have been doing affiliate marketing since June 2009, before that I did web design and other IT related jobs. I worked 8 years I was IT manager for an Oil & Gas company in Moscow (the one in Russia). That was a great experience for me as I got to run the department pretty much how I wanted, and I tell you we were not too far off from being the IT Crowd!

After my daughter was born I decided Russia was no longer the place for me and moved the whole family to Australia (we have actually started visa applications back in 2007 long before my wife was even pregnant!).

Leaving the security of a very well paid job on September 3rd 2008 was not the easiest thing, but I fell back on web design and kept a few sites for various companies on my books. These paid OK, but it’s a pain working for other people all the time.

Amazingly I did not really know what affiliate marketing was back then, it was only really when I joined WA in June 2009 that it became clear to me that you could make money selling other peoples products.

Since then I have launched many different sites, in numerous niches, they have just about all made money though some less than others!

I have used numerous tools over the years, and tested countless programs. I can say 90% of IM products are garbage, but there are some jewels out there. Some of which I would not live without these days.

I have been a heavy user of SEnuke since August 2009, and I have gained a good reputation over on the official forums (where I believe I became the first non-staff moderator… so don’t say anything bad or I will edit your comments!!).

In November 2010 I was asked to take part in the beta testing of SEnuke X, which I did right up until its launch in April 2011. I still have the developers on SkyPE and talk with them quite often.

I also did almost all of the link checking for xIndexer product, which is a tool that helps to index your pages.

I would not advocate using any of these tools though until you are making money doing things the traditional way first. Tools only automate the manual process, so if you can't get things working by hand then the tools are not going to help you.

If you have any questions about IM just ask, please try and be specific… oh and be prepared for a multi –thousand word response… I am well known for going on a bit!

Hi Pobman, I have just been over your website, ok I skimmed but I absolutely love your site. I'm going to subscribe to it but I wanted to come say hello first... 'cause I want to pick your brains a bit if you'll allow!
Specifically, I'm going through the bootcamp here in WA and was wondering if it too soon to get into SEnuke or can I incorporate the training there into my current training? Without causing me too much of a headache of course!
You're gonna be seeing a lot of me I think! ;-)

Hey Pobman, I haven't talked to you in about 10 months. I was wondering how Richard was doing? Hope you enjoyed your holiday.

I met up with him in April and will again in July before I fly back down under. We have one big project still on the go, we were up (or should I say down) in the Akexa 30,000's for many months so decent traffic! We are taking that 'to the next level' July/ August. He also merged his SEO company with a web development one, so now has a amazing coder available to him.

That's really awesome. Richard's always been 1 guy I've looked up to a lot. I have his SEO company on my site. I know you're very experienced also and can say the same for you. Would be cool if you could upload a pic of yourself though. :P Thought I'd let you know that Carson was saying people can game the Alexa ranking by submitting bots to your website & create false traffic to your website; thus black hatting the whole Alexa Rank concept altogether.

As for me, right now I'm creating a huge SEO guide here on Wealthy Affiliate soon so It should be cool. I think the largest WA guide currently here is the 30 day WA plan, so I'm wanting to surpass that up & then see how this guide fairs with comments & clicks just through WA search. I'm also putting it up on my site since you can now advertise Wealthy Affiliate by referring people to the 1st page of a Training Guide you've created or Kyle's I believe. They've changed this place up quite a bit since you've been here. But here's the Basic Outline of the Index Page:

Ch. 1 – Introduction
Ch. 2 – History of Search Engine Optimization
Ch. 3 – SEO in the New Age of Pandas
Ch. 4 – Contributing Factors
Ch. 5 – Using Low Competition Keywords
Ch. 6 – Ranking on Medium to High Competition Keywords
Ch. 7 – Using Hindsight & Intelligence
Ch. 8 – Free SEO Software & Tools to Look Into
Ch. 9 – What the Future Foretells
Ch. 10 – Summary & Conclusion

I've still yet to figure all the pages in between though.

~ Glad to have you back.

Well Alexa is only based on people who have the Alexa toolbar, or another such bit of software installed, so it is niche relative only.

For instance we can look at our SEnuke training site and directly compare it with another one because our target audience are the same, that is the % of people with the toolbar installed will be the same.

I cant compare it though with a site that for instance sells IT security systems, because their clients are more likely to be web aware and will not have installed the toolbar in the first place. I have seen this in the real world because I have a site selling privacy tools that gets far more traffic than our SEnuke site, yet it has an Alexa of 4,000,000+ ...

So yes you have to take Alexa with a pinch of salt... at the end of the day it is the $ in the bank that count :)

In case anybody wonders where I went... A long long holiday :) did a world cruise and then Europe... Got to love IM for allowing me to be on the road for 5 months now!

Got another month and then back to "work" ... A proper update then, as so much has gone on during this time!

Hi, and thanks for the buddy add. I started in IM about a year after you, but unlike you, I've not yet made any real progress - due mostly to not working consistently at it. There have been times that I learn a few things, followed by months (sometimes up to 6 months) that I don't even touch IM due to working ridiculous hours at my paid job. Just in June this year I worked 70 hour weeks again for the whole month. That's when I decided "No more" - I have a future in IM that I want to go after, so I need to have more time for myself and for learning and doing.

Hi Podman, What an interesting past, and what great background you have for IM. Now I know to whom to ask questions when they arise. Very happy to be buddies. And you're right, yellow is a great color/colour.

It is interesting how on this forum you are now the second person to call me ‘Podman’, while elsewhere I am usually mistakenly written as ‘Probman’ (though I guess with an extra ‘e’ the latter could become much worse!)…
Don’t worry, I never to offence to such things :)

Welcome to WA. There's lots of info on this site so don't let it blow your mind. Follow the 30 training offered here and also go to WAbinars and go to Affiliate Walk Through parts 1 & 2. There it will put it all together for you. I also suggest going to potpiegirls blog. She good. MUCH SUCCESS

Well actually i have read PotPies blog for over 2 years now, I will be honest I dont think it has the quality of years gone by. Probably too much time taken up with other projects. However I still read it.

Hello, welcome back to WA. I just read your topic in the forum about SEO C Class hosting, backups, SERP domination, etc. and just had to bookmark it. This is my fifth day at WA and I have decided you are to be my mentor! I will try not bug you all the time...

dont worry about bugging me, I get asked stuff all the time and try my best to answer when I can... always remember that with IM there often is no absolute correct answer... I can say one thing, and another person the complete opposite... there are so many variables that they can both be true.
