AMP for WP Plugin
Hello there,
How many of you have heard about AMP for WP Plugin? I'm pretty sure many of us have come across this plugin and most probably are using it already.
I watched Jay's Webinar about it and it seemed an awesome tool to use for those who want to boost their speen on mobile searches.
For those who are hearing it for the first time, Amp stands for Accelerated Mobile Pages and was first initiated in 2016. The main purpose of this Accelerated Mobile Pages Project is to simply allow publishers to create mobile optimized content.
According to Jay, AMP pluging will give the optimized content a rocket speed in loading everywhere and so it enhances userfriendliness.
If you need some more information about it read this training
You may also need to watch Jay's Webinar on Your Google Mobile Ranking Amped
Note: I Noticed that for those who are installing it now, you don't require the two plugins but one will do all the work pretty well - the one shown on the cover image.
Is anyone using this plugin? What are your experiences so far?
Enjoy
Paul

It seems there is a trade off when using AMP. You get rocket speed for loading your site and content on mobile platforms, but if you use any kind of program on your site such as Google AdSense or have an email signup form, they will not show up on those pages. Don't get me wrong, I like the concept of AMP I just wish they allowed for some more wiggle room for other things you may be using on your site.
As a marketer I don't think I would like to have a plugin that disables the functionality of other plugins which are of greater value like the sign up forms.
This is my first time hearing about this plugin so I don't have any experience with it at all. Maybe you can tell me a little bit more about this plugin to give me a better idea if I need it or not.
You can click on those links I've posted they have all the details especially Jay's webinar.
Hi Paul, I used to use this plugin, for about 1 yr I used it, but after some time I decided to uninstall everything AMP from my site.
It felt like I was editing my content design (buttons, layout etc) to fit 2 sites, a desktop site and a mobile AMP site, so it just felt like more hassle for me.
Plus, I wasn’t able to get people to sign up to my email list as there were no methods to do so unless directing people to a non amp landing page. The whole thing just felt like unnecessary stress lol.
Since uninstalling it I’ve had more and more people being able to join my list and I feel it’s had a better impact on my bounce rate and number of visitors on my site. My site is mobile optimised, I’m still ranking on Google, and overall I feel less stressed about it!
Just thought I’d share my personal experience with AMP. Maybe others have had better experiences.

That's a great insight Steph. I only heard about it recently and I installed it to see how it works. Unfortunately, my plugins meter is reading zero already because I have too many.
No worries, I hope AMP plugin works better for you as I do feel it can have its benefits. It's just unfortunate that it added stress for me.
