Some light at the end of the tunnel

For the past couple of years I've been going off in all sorts of directions trying to find my way through the whole internet thing. Tried all sorts of video courses, bought PDF training products, fumbled around inside Wordpress, added so many 'shortcut' plug- ins etc. only to come up with very little financial reward for the time and monety put in.

Don't get me wrong, I am fascinated by the whole thing and get a buzz out of creating a website,- the only thing is that I was hoping for some real results.

I had some time on my hands recently and decided to stop trying to push on and take some time to listen to real people instead of trying to work it out all on my own.

I can't even remember what I searched for online but eventually found some guys that were offering FREE!! advice and giving honest, transparent information about their journey, failures and success. Guys like Mike From Maine , Tom Corson-Knowles (TCK Publishing), and a few other genuine entrepreneurs who were willing to help.

The message was so clear!!

Stop building junk to try to make money.
Don't try to con the reader.
Be honest.
Provide real value.
Help others.
Don't just try to help yourself.

So when I stumbled across Wealthy Affiliates and heard this same message and discovered their amazing value-for-money program, I just knew that I had to join up.

I have acquired a lot of new skills knowledge and experience over the past couple of years, despite a lack of success, to some extent. As a result I can know hone them, and build on them, with the expert training provided by WA and under the watchful eye of the Wealthy Affiliate community.

I am working my way through the training, step-by-step, and trying to make sure that I have everything covered, to avoid my mistakes of the past.

My wife and I have been early childhood and primary years teachers for around 30 years.

Between us we have an expertise in children's education so it finally occurred to me that this has to be the niche to get into.

I decided to take Kyle's advice and began working on a quality blog in the Early Childhood niche, focusing on educational learning toys, games, news and reviews.

I have built a website on my own domain- http://lilkidzearlychildhood.com, known as Lil'Kidz Early Childhood News & Reviews.

I have begun to monetize it with a couple of related Amazon banners through Amazon Associates, and a Learn to Read ad for a Clickbank product.

With only a few posts up at this stage, it is still only very early days.

My first significant success that I have seen so far is that I was able to rank Page 1 for a keyword (in the title and body of one of my posts) almost immediately after I had published it. This is very significant because it means that the 'light bulb' has suddenly come on to me about the importance of good keyword research and that it really works!!

In the next three months I just want to move ahead, learning as much as I can from the training and WA Community and create a really worthwhile blog that people will want to read and gain some real insight and have their problems addressed.

In the upcoming 6 months I hope to have built a following on social media and have an email marketing campaign underway, with a regular newsletter and promotions.

If its all going well then I might scale things up a bit and start looking at other niches or sub-niches in my field that I can build new blogs or websites about.

That light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter!
