The Most Informative Article: An Update
The Most Informative Article: An Update
Two weeks ago, I published The Most Informative Article in My Niche here on Wealthy Affiliate.
It was a skyscraper article, built using principles taught in WA by Partha and comprised an introduction, paragraphs with headings based on Google's "People Also Ask" and a conclusion.
There were 30 paragraphs, each one illustrated by a free Pixabay image and with lots of links to landing pages on my site as well as a couple of external links to authority sites like Wikipedia.
The article was around 10,000 words and I built it over a few weeks.
It was published two weeks ago, so thought I'd post an update.
How Long Did It Take for Google to Index It?
I've written other articles about Google Indexing and so I was very pleased to see it indexed in less than half a day.
In fact, I think it was around 2 hours!
Then What?
I haven't spent much time on it since it was published.
Mainly:
- Added two more "People Also Ask" paragraphs, along with illustrative images.
- Added backlinks to it from other, relevant blog posts in the same site.
How About Ranking?
It's a very competitive niche, so I wasn't expecting any immediate ranking on the primary key phrase. This is a long-term plan.
But, of course, I was curious. So here are the results for the main key phrase in a Google Incognito window.
First up, Google says there are about 497,000,000 results.
After a few days, my article suddenly appeared on page 7 of the results. Although that means it's essentially invisible, I was surprised that it showed up at all at this stage.
Over the past week, it's advanced to page 6, then page 5 and today is on page 4.
And the first few pages are occupied by high flyers such as Amazon, Shopify, Neil Patel and so on. I'm in good company.
Now I understand that page 4 is also essentially invisible but I'm encouraged that movement is in the right direction and I intend to continue what I'm doing.

TIA
Melanie Lynne
Hi Melanie. It comes up automatically with a Google search, but not always. It depends on the popularity of the search term.

This could be what I wanted to know. Would it have been better to do 5 articles (2000 per ) with different keywords on the same topic?
People also ask is a good way to get traffic especially on medium website. I believe you would jump to number one soon, awaits future updates.
Thank you for sharing.
David
It seems to be working, David.
That is great
