Gratitude is an Anti-Depressant
We all get the blues from time to time.
That feeling that it's not worthwhile.
We may as well give up.
I should write another blog post today, but I just can't be bothered.
When that happens, here's a great way to make yourself feel better:
List (yes, actually write down) 5 things you should be grateful for.
Including those you take for granted.
Here are 5 off the top of my head.
1. I live in a beautiful part of the world.
2. I don't have to walk miles to get fresh water. Cold, drinkable water is available at the turn of a tap. Turn it the other way to deliver hot water. How easy is it to take that one for granted?
3. I'm so lucky to have children, grandchildren and friends that love and care about me.
4. When I need food, there are supermarkets, butchers and greengrocers within walking distance that have more choices than I could ever need.
5. I'm allowed to think and believe what I want, even if others think it's nonsense. When I want to find out stuff, I have a computer that's connected to the world's knowledge.
So... What things are you grateful for?

I live near a beautiful river. You can walk past lots of pelicans in the evening, as shown in the first pic. That's all I have to do to feel great!
