Domain parking for money - Does it work?
I've been considering "domain parking" for a while now. I have a couple of domains that attract fairly decent traffic, I'm looking to park them. Does any one have any experience in this field? If so I would really appreciate some your know how :) Thanks in advance
Pete

I've read on some forums that making money will be totally dependent on the layout, the keywords used and the traffic that goes to that domain. I checked out sedo.com and they have some information about it. They offer free domain parking. It's not a bad idea to try it since a domain name is only around $10 and the parking is free. I wouldn't rely on it, but this will depend on how generic your domain is and how often users just type in your domain. Getting them to click is a different story.
i wasn't aware that you can make money from the ads on parked domains. Anyways, you're better off even building a basic site and doing your own ads. Can't get a parked domain ranked.
Hey Pete,
I tried parking with GoDaddy and also with a company called WhyPark.com. Didn't make much of anything with GoDaddy. With WhyPark (which is now domainapps.com) you have to create content (or pay them to do it). For that, you may as well have your own website. I made a little money here and there but discovered the effort to keep them going wasn't worth it.
Those are the only two that I've tried and as I said, when you have to create content yourself, your efforts are better off doing it with standard hosting. As a premium member hosting is included here at WA.
Best Regards,
Jim
