The Fastest Free WP Theme - 91 Mobile - 100 PC
Hello my dear WA family, today I want to discuss about WP Themes, to be more precise, want to talk how WP themes can affect our page speed. I'll be short on this one :)
When I started at Wealthy Affiliate and found out that page speed is also one of the ranking factors, I was struggling to make my site faster. Hours and hours of work, installing various plugins for images, for JSS and many many more..
In the end, I only had WP Fastest Cache and some image optimizer (no need for anything else), and of course, inside Site Details, you can increase site speed to highest.
It happened by accident
I had some problems with my OceanWP theme, the thing was that if I put my logo on the site, it doesn't index my site name. I couldn't find my site's home page on google.
I decided to look for another theme, and I have found the Neve theme for wordpress.

It's very basic theme
It is very basic theme, but it has everything you need to make nice looking website, with the help of Elementor, everything can look just amazing.
Of course, if you want some more features, you can buy pro version which starts from €29.. But it's not what I want to talk about...
I checked my site at Page Speed Insights
After I installed this theme, and I saw that everyone is getting great speed results, I went to PageSpeed Insights by Google and checked my speed.. You can see results below:
Mobile speed is 91, I have never reached this result before.
And results for PC is unbelieveable, 100!
I never had results like this!
Just to tell you, I never had results similar to this, before I changed my theme, I could get only about 67-70 for mobile, and 85-90 for PC..
I never thought that theme can affect our page speed rankings so much..
So, if you have problems with PageSpeed, don't worry too much, maybe it's just up to your theme, that's what I wanted to tell you :)
What theme do you use? Is it fast and reliable?

Thank you Petar. Excellent! I've been struggling to sort out speed and have tested lots of options. I will be giving this a go tomorrow.

I recently changed my theme as well, and Neve was one of the themes I was considering. I instead opted for the free version of Generate Press, my speed has improved as well since the switch. I am still playing around with the design and might consider using a page builder. I have never used one before so I need to research. Thank you for sharing your experience.
