Hello!
I'm trying to embed a youtube video in my latest blog post.

Slight problem however

It's not working.

Here's my process:

  • Go to youtube v

Here's a video for you What happens if you click on Publish instead of Save Draft?

I actually watched your video already when looking for an answer :) haha

I followed all those points and the video does not show.
I just tried also to publish the post and the video disappears

I have absolutely no idea what's happening Phllip. I just embedded a video on my test website and it's working just fine.

Maybe there's an issue with your theme or a plugin. There's a couple of things you can try.
1) Change to a WordPress standard theme such as Twenty Seventeen (you can change back again later if you wish).
2) Deactivate ALL your plugins. If that makes a difference then activate them one at a time testing as you go to find out which one is being naughty.

The reason I ask is because, Sometimes I find the best keyword is something like

"best ___ for ____"

And I don't want all of my titles to look the same...or look li

Ideally you do want to include your keyword in the headline but it isn't necessary.

You can still rank for the keyword without it being in the headline. Additionally, sometimes it's best not to include it in the headline - because you do want your headlines to be interesting and compelling.

Not including your keyword may slightly decrease your chance of ranking but may dramatically increase the clickthrough - so it can be worth it.

You need to include the keyword phrase in your title and in your first paragraph. Yes, it must be the exact wording. "sending words" and "sending my words" are two different keywords. Sometimes you have to add words to a phrase in order to make it read smoothly. "Great restaurants Hawaii" is a different keyword that "Great restaurants in Hawaii." You need to use the later phrase to make your post read correctly, but most people will leave the "in" out of a search. Check them each and see how much difference there is.

But if the title is slightly different, Don't I have the possibility of ranking for multiple keywords.

So someone googles. "sending words"
Then they see my post title "sending my words"
They will still click on it, probably, if the title is enticing enough.

So if I have a good amount of "sending words" in the first line of the post, the first paragraph, and a few other places....what does it matter if the titles isn't EXACTLY like the keyword phrase

The reason why I'm asking is because I heard that Google doesn't like websites as much if they have a bunch of ads on them.

I guess if you're getting a lot of organic tra

Hey Phillip love your logo man! Awesome. I think it would be a good time to start monetizing. Are you taking advantage of social media? I think a Pinterest business account would be great.

Please don't sell your site short with those cheesy adsense make 3 cent a week ads

Just my opinion.

There are several great affiliate programs out and of course Amazon.

Maybe choose one of the pedals and do a review on it and add an affiliate link to that.

Or you could add text links in some of the posts you already have.

Just a thought

Hey Tim, I've actually been seeing the majority of my traffic from Pinterest! I though it was a little odd considering I barely have anything up on there, but the facts don't lie.

So you think adsense is a waste of time?
I kinda agree, but anytime I got to a big/major website (like guitarcenter for example) they all have ads on them.

I feel like it's okay for them because people know and trust guitarcenter...a few ads won't steer them away.

I'm currently trying to figure out how to do product reviews. I don't have good recording equipment, and no access to the thousands of pricey pedals I could potentially review.

I was thinking about just finding a demo of the pedal on youtube then writing my article about it.

But eventually I need to make the content more my own.

Sorry Tim, sort of thinking out loud.

Oh! also Tim, I've found a really good affiliate program like guitartricks.com

They give you $25 per person who signs up for a free trial!
Yea that's right just the free trial,
and they give you $30 for someone who commits to the year.

All I really have to do is get people to the site, and they will almost guarantee do a free trial.

So, I'm hoping to focus most of my money making efforts there.
Seeing as how amazon only has a 24 hour cookie rate! geeeeez seems highly unlikely in these early stages

That sounds great man. I think adsense distracts your visitors. You want them focused on the product you are selling. When you are as big as Guitarcenter all those pennies add up due to the volume of traffic they have. But for small sites I do not think the trade off is worth it.

I don't know if have run across Nathaniel in your WA travels but he is sharp. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/nathaniell Here is a link to his take on product reviews that I think will really help you out.

You might consider adding your affiliate links to your pins. Are you signed up with amazon?

Lynne just did a video on that process. It is super simple. feel free to send me a PM anytime if you want to just bounce ideas off someone.

Tim

Dang Tim, you seem like a top notch fella.
I'm gonna have to take the time to look over these resources today!
That Pinterest affiliate link is genius

Go Get'em!

Yes, you should consider putting ads on your website, but the thing is you need to limit them. Don't flood your page with ads, this could deter visitors even if your website is fully up and runing.

The best place to typically put an ad is at the top of the post or page. That seems to be where the most clicks appear on average.

I just added Adsense to my site last week. I did it during the lessons when Kyle told me too. I am not really getting any real traffic yet...but I am following the lessons so I did it.

If you are not in any real hurry to see some money coming in you might as well hold off...the only harm in it is potential loss of revenue.

As for Google ranking, I'm not sure about that. I don't like sites with lots of ads...so I only placed one on the sidebar so far.
