I Need Motivation, please! 3 Months In...
Hey, folks. I'm 3 months in and have made $4.28 so far. My expenses are over $150. Comparing my expenses to my profits... it's discouraging. I'm not even close to breaking even.
Traffic is slowly increasing. But for the past few weeks it's been hovering at around 100 visits/day.
My site isn't ranking well. I've never made the first page in Google search. Most of my traffic comes from Reddit, actually. But I think they are blocking my posts now because of affiliate links.
My content is good. I use keywords properly in every article.
Stats:
How I track my articles:
Expenses: $153.87
Profits: $4.28
^^ That's what bothers me the most! I think down the road... several more months in and I'll be in the hole over $300.
If I keep up my current pace I'll probable make a min of $2 for this month. That's very discouraging, by itself.
My goal of over $1,000/month is nowhere in sight.
I need motivation to continue, please. Anything... compare me to you! Is there hope?

I agree with Tracy and magdor. Think about how far you have come!
Motivation is fleeting. It comes and goes. Just do what you need to do, motivated or not.
The reality is that 3 months is a short time for a new business. Don't rely on search engines at this early stage of your business.
Join forums and groups that specialize in video gaming, where you are allowed to add a signature link to your site. Make valuable contributions with your posts in those venues.
You can find them by searching terms such as "video games + forums" and such variations.
Only join ones that you see are popular, have regular daily activity, and where they allow you to add your signature link, or at least a profile page where you can add the link to your site.
Contribute to the conversation with your insights and knowledge and let your signature link do the work for you.
People will get to know you and they are more likely to visit your site and buy through your links that way.

I think Tracy47 has hit it on the head, so I won't repeat! Just don't expect too much too quickly, it takes time, Rome wasn't built in a day..If you build it, they will come ;)
I wish I had as many visits as you have. BIS already gave you some very important details about the appearance of your content. Take her advice, it's a good one.

Having - looked at your site - one of the things I would do urgently is increase the size of your font. In my view it is far too small and I think is probably losing you visitors.
I also think you need to look at your content. The layout of most of your content is just lots of text. There are no subheadings and no bullet points making it easier to read and for people to pinpoint information. I would also question some of the 'value' of your content for readers. I don't think that you're giving them enough information which would encourage anyone to click on a link.

Try other marketing campaigns other than depending on Google rankings. And listen to Tracy47 below!

Tough Love, and it is with love that I say this... I just read your profile and a few comments you've made on here. They are all centered around negativity. I am a veteran in this topic and I wish someone would have given me this advice.... CHANGE YOUR MINDSET! Focus on the fact that you have only been at this for 60 days and you have 145 visitors per month. Focus on the fact that your content is awesome! Focus on the fact that you built a successful website and made it through the training. Focus on the fact that you have been focused on WA. YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELF. We all need to pay bills but if you notice, we are also very passionate about what we do. Connect with your readers through passion, not desperation. You are doing everything right on the technical side. You need to do things right on the "connection" side and it will click. People are searching for the information on your site to get help for a problem they need to solve. Focus on your readers and the value you provide. Interact. You will be amazed at how Google will recognize this. Still baffles me how Google can "see" this information but I've given up on understanding Google. You are doing amazing and you need to pat yourself on the back- BE PROUD OF THE AWESOME WEBSITE YOU'VE BUILT!
I'm not there yet. Try tweaking and refine or split test or try another niche. At least you have analytics and you can go as you grow.
You seem to being doing well with traffic. Your unique visitors increase each month. On average you get 145 visitors a day. That is good. I see your bounce rate is good.
Your first few months you need to attract people to your sight. Then you need to have the product they need. You need to have the right call to action for them to buy the product. There are articles on here about this. I just watched a webinar by Jay about this very issue this week. You might want to look at the video. It was presented in Sept 2013.
You can also post your website and ask for comments.

The fact that you're tracking things so closely is a step far beyond the norm. Use it. Make small changes to different posts and see where your stats improve and fall. Start with the advice below and use the link below for some amazing inspiration. ;)
