Just ask

If you're anything like me, the idea of being codependent scares you. For years and years and years I've spend my whole life avoiding the phrase "I need help". That's exactly why I'm here to tell you it's okay to ask for help. It's okay to admit that you don't have the answers.

Here's the amazing thing: When you ask for help, you get it. Especially in this community, the vast majority of people aren't here to judge you, they're here to help you. People want to be there for you. Everyone wants to receive, and everyone wants to give, and there's nothing wrong with being on either end of that spectrum.

There is someone out there who knows more about you than something, that's just a fact, and if you find that person they're often the one most willing to help, because they know what it's like to work hard for your goals. Finding professionals to help you isn't wrong, it's smart, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Keep learning from the best and some day you'll become one of them

This is an awfully ranty blog, so I'm sorry if it's a little bit all over the place, but stream of consciousness tends to be that way. My main point? Just ask. Ask and you will receive.

You're 100% correct, Patrick. That's why I have Cory on speed dial!

No I think you nailed it perfectly. New people frequently comment that their nervous or are afraid to ask a stupid question. You're exactly right. The only way to keep moving forward is to ask whenever you run into something you can't solve. Great post.
