How to Create Links on Your Website.
When you're writing content for your website, you need to get the proper training for you to be able to understand how important it is to use images and anchor links in your content.
Why is this Important?
It's very important to help the viewers relate to what your content is all about. This will give them a visual picture of what you are writing about, which is the subject of your content.
What Are My Options For Learning How to Do This?
There are many options for getting this type of training. You can use Search Engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing to search for this type of information.
What Other Options Are There?
You could enroll in a College or A University that are offering these types of courses.

How to Create Links on Your Website.
Many websites that I have given feedback on, have problems with creating links on their sites that doesn't return the viewer back to his/her site. So, I am creating this blog to try to explain how to do this. When you have an image that's not suppose to link to anything, if you click on the image, it will just link to another view of the image.
Here is a quick way that I use to keep the image from being "clickable", what I mean by this, if you hoover your pointer over the image and it turns into a little hand, this means that the image is "clickable". For this, you need to be in "preview" or "view" mode, not in visual.
For the image to NOT be clickable, in visual mode:
- then click on the broken link at the top, this will "un-link" the image.
- after you click the broken link.
click on "update", then "preview", now you should only see the arrow pointer of your cursor and not the little hand. Try this, you'll see what I mean.
Here is a blog by one of our members about adding images to you website.
How Do I Make a Text Link?
To make a text/anchor link, such as your Affiliate Link:
- highlight your Affiliate Link.
- then you should make a Pretty Link.
- copy your pretty link.
- select the text that you want to be an "anchor link"
- copy the pretty link that you just created.
- paste this copied link where is say: "URL here"
- then the name of the link: "Wealthy Affiliate Landing Page" (add your tracking ID).
- click the little box that say "open in a new window"
You're done, you have just create a link, after the viewer close where the link took them, it will return them back to your website. You don't want to have a "clickable link" that doesn't return the viewer back to your site, when they close. The only way they could get back is they would have to use the back button on their computer, some may not take the time to do this, so be careful, make sure you select "open in a new tab" Thank you and I hope this will help members that's having this problem.
Summary:
URL=enter the pretty link created for the title.
Title=Wealthy Affiliate Landing Page with tracking.
The box=check this box for your link to open in a new window and return back to your site.
What Are Watermarks? What Are They For?
Watermark are text (or whatever) that's put on the face or at the bottom of images. These watermarks, when they're visible on images will show that the images wasn't purchase. For an example, if you have an image with "Fotolia" or something else on the face or at the bottom, if Fotolia see this webpage, they will know that you didn't purchase that image from them.
As a result, they may contact you and tell you to remove the image/images. Also, I don't think Google and other Search Engines will like this. I have done this myself until I recently got information that I could get into trouble from Jay's Webinars. I hope this will help further. Take care.

I need to get clear on how to remove unnecessary links which I inadvertently placed next to two of three of my "page" titles.....you know that little "square" icon with an arrow at its upper right hand corner....can anyone help me with that please?
Can you send us a screen shot of what you mean? Usually all you need to do is go into edit mode, highlight the link and then go to the top of your page and click the broken paperclip icon. Did you try that already?
I think I tried about everything so far but I will definitely try that again... thanks, wish me luck ;=)

just go on there and you'll see the icon.....it is a pop up link i think
I see what you mean now. It looks like it may be linked to the email address at the bottom of your post. What happens if you break the link after highlighting the email address?
its not connected to anything but itself, as it is a pop up link. But no need to pop anything up, or else I need to do it to all three posts and don't remember how I got it on there.
But I will work it out eventually... ;=)
Thanks bsmith1222, I keep thinking of other things I could have put in this blog, I hope it's understandable as it is.
Thanks for sharing... excellent information and well presented. Saved for future reference.
