The pieces start to fit

After overcoming the information overload faze of WA I began settling in for the long journey. Fear had turned to restless anticipation, realizing that this was not a short road and not something to just bust out and publish. Restless anticipation gave way to patience and certainty. "Patience" in the knowing that this carrier path was an elephant, the elephant represents the vast pool of information available, and the best way to eat an elephant was one bite at a time, . "Certainty" in the knowing that the road has a destination, and that destination is Success. Going from I think I can, to I know I can, is a huge change, and a tremendous booster emotionally.

Designing a website, creating the pages, writing posts, doing my WA review and watching the percentages go up in site health has been very exciting. Mid week my site health turned green and now reads awesome. That is quite a feeling to see the work equate to something. Over the weekend I added several books to a new page which is now linked to my Amazon associates account.

It helped me a great deal to isolate an item that needed attention and then tasking on that item. I noticed that breaking it down into bite size pieces not only made it less overwhelming but allowed me to give 100% to that task and also have an understanding and greater retention of what I was working on. I know that this is a solid foundation of knowledge that it will be able to be applied to other websites in the future. Trick is to let the information in at a comfortable pace, settle in for the journey, know the the journey has a solid destination, and during the ride the pieces start to fit.

I understand completely what you mean. Starting a new career can be very interesting. I like the light at the end of the tunnel.

When I switched to Contracting from working hourly I liked the "cookies" the chunks of money that actually felt like something during a project. With WA I feel like that is possible again. Hourly employment has a cap, you can only bust out so many hours in a day. Here I feel like there is a limitless ceiling above us, and we are kissing hourly wages goodbye! The light at the end of the tunnel, here we come !!!

Hi Paul,
Very well put. I too have gone through the same experience, along with I'm sure a vast majority of fellow WA members.
Awesome... after 35 years you are tackling a new course in life.

Cheers!

When I would tell my late father about starting a boat that would take a year or so to build, he would say, it will be a year or so from now anyway, weather you build it or not!

So that is pretty much that, in a nut shell !

You've got the right attitude there, Pandre. It is a journey which takes time, thanks for the motivation and keep up the good work!

Thanks Mac, quite a ways to go, but i'm chugging along. It's a long trip and it's a good thing I have my trail mix with me!
