Resilience - [Required]

HI all. I hope you are well.

It occurred to me that our online businesses share something with brick and mortar businesses. And that is .. it requires resilience. Well it's not required, but it sure makes it a lot easier.

Brick and mortar has to plan their advertising, see what is effective, then tweek their campaign or advertising methods toward what works. They might have to review the way their customers prefer to receive their products, as we have seen with the new services of delivery of groceries, fast food and almost anything else you can think of.

Online, we do similar things. We plan for how we plan to promote: search engines, paid advertising, social media, forums. We also have to plan for what our visitors like and where they are. Who they are.

But in addition to the obvious marketing questions we plan for, there is resilience in the beginning, when we are going through our training and figuring things out. Maybe the training video has a different version of WordPress pictured and the reality is some functions aren't where they were pictured. Be resilient! It doesn't matter where the function is, it matters you find it and use it. :)

Learn to find answers. Ask the questions your website visitors have so you can answer them. Always be in pursuit and questions and the asnwers. It is one of the fun and rewarding parts of online business. So keep learning, keep striving and solve problems.

Online business requires a lot of resilience (bending to what is, not what you want it to be). It requires a bit of creativity and you wil find yourself thinking outside the box. :)

Don't get lost in the details, keep the big picure in front of you so you can plow through any obstacles or learning curve you need to.

Yes, resilience is one of the key traits that one needs to have to build a successful business. We don't always win right away when it comes to implementing what we've learnt and dealing with real life situations but showing perseverance and consistency in our work even when we fail sometimes, resilience do carry us through especially since we operate in an enabling environment here at WA in which people are willing to assist each time a person feels stuck.

Thanks for adding to the convo, Maggie. :)

I feel resilience is necessary to keep a positive attitude as well. When something doesn’t work out it may be necessary to try another avenue. I am hoping by the time I am ready to retire that I have found that avenue. ( I have a long ways to go). Who knows, maybe if I get there faster, I can retire sooner!

Thanks, Michelle. I'm in that boat too. Paula

Thank you for sharing Paula. I always knew that one had to stick to their goal or plans to be successful in any business but this added element of resilience reminds me that we have to adapt as well.
Thanks again

A great reminder to focus on the big picture, thanks!

Thank you.

Thank you Paula for the inspiring post.

Thanks. Paula

You're welcome.

Flexibility and the mirror principle are so important to be conscious about.

I like your thinking. :) Paula

I agree with you, resilience is a great asset to your success in not just online business, but business in general. I actually believe that it is required. As entrepreneurs, failure is something that is common among us and if you're not resilient and cannot bounce back from each failure, then the failure becomes permanent. And the rest is history.

I agree. Thanks for weighing in. :) Paula

Hi Paula. You're correct , online business's require just as much resilience as an offline , bricks mortar one. However, the opportunities are so much more productive here. I have had several offline business's in my life. They all took a lot of money and hard physical as well as mental work. The great thing about affiliate marketing us that the initial costs are only a fraction of the bricks and mortar ones. Also, there is really no physical work required, and for me, after a lifetime of back breaking work, that is fantastic. Jim

So true, Jim. Thanks

Paula, I agree wholehearedly especially since I do offline marketing for online as well.
Wealthy Affiliate has given me the knowledge to assist with websites and the confidence to sell that service locally.
Stay the course and the success comes both ways if desired enough.

So true. :) Paula
