I have only been part of WA for about 3 weeks now and I went through all 5 levels of the getting started training! It was a lot to grasp but since it was new and something I have no idea about I really got into it! Also, I haven't slept much in the last 3 weeks. =)

So I've made my website, written some regular posts and some reviews attaching amazon or other smaller affiliate links in the review like Kyle said to do. I've also shared it on google plus, facebook, etc.

I think I am doing alright as I am trying to pick topics I know about and that I think people are interested in reading about. But my problem is trying to figure out what to promote.

I like my website and it's a great start for my online life but in terms of financial gain I don't know what direction to take.

My niche is a little different from others as it has to do with snacks, candy, etc. that comes from Japan. So a lot of the stuff is either not available on Amazon or I can find it on specific Japanese sites but it seems like it's very unlikely people will buy. For example a gummy candy that is available for around 2 dollars US isn't available on Amazon.com and some Japan site is selling it for like 50 bucks so I doubt someone will pay that much for a gummy candy. =)

Maybe I am not the greatest in terms of marketing creativity so if anyone knows potential posts/ideas/ways to somehow promote something that might get me better chances to turn this website into a profitable site.

Anyway thanks for reading this far and hope everyone is doing well! Here is the link to my website if anyone wants to see it or has ways to improve it.

Thanks,

Oz

Ozzy,
You might want to try Ebay as a seller. If you can get a hold of the products to sell there , that might be a way. Also, try to interest the manufacturers into affiliate marketing. They can set up a campaign including affiliate marketing were it would be advantageous for you and them.

Hey Oz I can tell you that there ARE folks who will buy Japanese candy and snacks ... why ... who the hell knows. lol

My daughter, 9yrs old, is in love with Japanese candy and snacks because she saw them on some YouTube channels she watches about dolls and blind bags and such.

On a recent trip to Canada (we are in the US) she found some of these and one in particular that is banned in the US by the FDA. Of course we had to get them, and we certainly ate them before returning to the US. :)

Anyway you DO have an audience and people DO buy these products. I did a quick search in Google like this: Japanese candy + affiliate programs.

Up popped a bunch of options. If you know the names of the candy manufacturer(s) type that in after the + in your search and maybe they have a direct affiliate program.

Don't forget to brush your teeth. :)

ROCK ON!

Thanks for your reply! And for the affiliate search recommendation. I think Amazon might not be the best for me so those smaller affiliate programs might be the best bet!
P.S. Your daughter sounds awesome! =)

You're welcome Oz!

Thank you, my daughter is one great kid for sure! We'll be sure to check out your site so let us know when you've got it going ... ummmm and I'll need my credit card.
