Your best Marketer!
Your best sales promoter: Meta descriptions
The meta description is your best sales promoter, it is a promise you make to your prospective clients. Among all your competition, you are telling them, “This is my promise for what you’re looking for.” “What you are looking you will find it in my site.”When writing your meta descriptions, make sure to include these three key elements.
1. Your description can not be more than 320 characters
It may be fine to write a meta description that cuts off halfway through the sentence, as long as it states completely what your site and your promise is about within the 320 characters.
2. Focus on the customer
This is paramount, focus on how your product or service can benefit and make the customer life more enjoyable. The description at the home page should sell your brand and match the customer’s desires, expectations and requirements.
3. Repeat, all over again
Once you have found the communication you would like to send, be sure that it does convey the message. And repeat again.
Consistency pays. Customers will understand your brand as the solution for their needs. Traffic and sales will increase due to your best marketer ... your meta descriptions.

Glad that I read this. Great points but the way, but I thought the number of characters were dropped to 156? I like the idea of giving your customers full attention. Sometimes that is where we tend to stay a little. Thank you.
Meta descriptions can be any length. Recommended 30 - 300 Google used to truncate snippets ~300 characters. The limit increased in December 2017. Anyhow, 300 characters you are safe to describe your product/service.
