Are you performing WordPress backups regularly?
Hi there amazing Wealthy Affiliate community. Recently I was thinking of changing my wordpress theme and then, a question popped in my head ''I should probably make a backup before I do so?''. You know...just in case something goes horribly wrong and everything is screwed up or worst, what if I lose all of my work I have been putting so much effort in for the past three months. That wasn't the end of it. I just realize that...wait a minute! I have been so careless that I haven't even thought of doing this after three months worth of hard work.
So, now that I am at this step. I am pitching this out here. Are you performing manual or automated backups regularly? If so, what are your best methods? Is there a way to do it via the Wealthy Affiliate platform? Have you been as careless as I have been to protect your hard work and priceless creations?
I hope everyone is doing fine in these harsh time with the covid-19 and hope you keep in mind that your website and business health also needs to be taken care of.
What are your thoughts on this subject?

Hi Oliver,
Haven't done a back up of my site for a while. But I haven't changed anything major there.
I use UpdraftPlus - Backup/Restore, and I have the choice to set it to automatic or manual. I have it de-activated most of the time mainly due to site speed.

Have you actually found a difference in your site's speed with / without UpdraftPlus enabled?
Hi Oliver, I am maxing out my plugins using 7 giving me a 30% efficiency rating. I am at a 100% with all the rest. It has been a while since I did a site speed check with UpdraftPlus enabled de-activated. I will do a re-check later and be able to give you a definite answer.

Installed UpdraftPlus yesterday and made full backup. Worked like a charm. I can sleep on both ears now.

Thanks again for taking part of this thread. I have been looking for online reviews for those 2 top popular backup plugin ; BackupBuddy and UpdraftPlus mentioned below.
There is some shocking disfavorable comments out there about both. Have you ever encountered bad experience with these two plugins, or is it just working perfectly fine? If so, are you using a free or premium paid version?
