3 months already? ( or should I better ask : Only 3 months?)

Yes. It has been 3 months since i joined this community and started walking in the online marketing path. At some moments, thinking about my time here it seems as if I just joined yesterday. Time passed so quickly I didn't have the chance to do everything I wanted. On other moments it seems to me that I am here for ages already. The ideas, the terminology, the spirit of the community - none of them seem new anymore. One thing I can say for sure: it has been intensive but very enjoyable.

So 3 month ago I arrived here with no knowledge of the online business world at all. I was asked to set up my goals. Let me check what I wrote as my goal for my first 3 months... Well I can't find where I wrote it but as far as I remember my goal was to have a fully working website that I can be proud with its design and have enough content already. I also hoped to get some traffic by now.

Let's inspect where do I really stand after 3 months.. How much of those goals have I managed to accomplish?

Well I have my website: http://youmustard.com/ . Am I proud of it? Yes I am. After some difficulties at the beginning to choose a theme, I found one that I am quite comfortable with. I am really challenged when it comes to graphic design and I really feared that I would not be able to have anything that would look pleasant and professional. But I am quite comfortable with the results. I mean it is not like some of the blogs that I follow where I say WOW every time I read a new post there because of their exceptional design and quality of images, but I think it is nice and pleasant enough for the visitor and do look professional. Knowing my graphic design skills I think that is an achievement already.

I also found a flow that works. I mean I was not sure exactly what should be a page and what should be published as blog posts. I was not sure what top level categories I should have. I already have a clear stable view on that and it works for me.

And what about content? Well I have 6 pages and 18 posts. Less than I planned. I find it more difficult that I thought to find post subjects. I find it even more difficult to allocate the time to writing them. Until that website will become a real business that can bring some income, I need to be busy getting that income somewhere else.

Looking at those 18 posts, I can say that I am very pleased with some of them. Less with others. Some I feel are targeting a large audience that may find them interesting. Other are really aiming at a smaller niche audience which I am not sure how big it is. What brings me to my great concern: Have I chosen a good niche?

Mustard. Definitely a niche. How big? Should be big enough according to my assumption, but I could not verify it. Would it be a niche that can also bring revenues? Mustard is after all a cheap product to affiliate. I asked that question at the beginning. Kyle assured me that any niche is good. I can't say I am convinced, but as I was then, I am also confident now that Kyle knows what he is talking about. I just can't wait to see it myself in my own eyes. I know it is too soon.

Now let's check the traffic. I am not sure how much traffic is expected after 3 months. I know I was hoping for some. Currently I have zero. Or almost zero. I mean I have some peaks, mostly by people from this community that respond to my request for comments and feedback. Here and there I can see some organic search access and now starting to get some "social" access. But most of the traffic I get is spam, seems to be arriving from Russia. I am not sure what it is, seems like a bot or something but definitely spam.

So that is my 3 months balance. I am quite pleased, yet concerned.

I have a lot of hopes in really growing that business to a real business that can provide revenues. I am certainly planning to give my website enough time to prove it can become a business. I am lately progressing too slowly with my training plan here. I think it is because I reached the social networks chapters. That is a tough area for me as I have not been active in social networking until now and I really find it difficult. But I know how significant it is. I hope to get used to those ideas and actually implement them.

The community here is really supportive. I get feedback when I ask, I get my questions answered very quickly and I find useful information in other's posts. I was a little disappointed not to be able to read here real success stories. I hope they are there and I just didn't look at the right places or maybe people like to keep their real success stories and numbers to themselves. But even without those stories, the message from this community is that it is more than possible.

So what am I waiting for? Back to work!

Hi. You have made a great deal of progress in your 3 months. It does take time to reap the results but just keep adding content, as often as you can and things will start moving.

Keep on using low hanging keywords for your titles and follow all the lessons as you are doing and things will come together.
