Creative Writing and Freedom of Speech - is it supported in WA?

Daily I have seen postings of thought of the day and poems, handmade posters and other forms of creative writing and I thought how creative this world is. I simply love it for all these interesting things that people are able to create.

However, it is sad to see that there are some people who do not like creativity and they do their best to snuff out other people's spark. Isn't WA a friendly community? Shouldn't members be supportive of one another?

If you don't like creativity and do not like the masterpiece you don't have to participate in the discussion.

Imagine you are visiting an art gallery, if you don't like a piece of art, you simply move on to the next one. Only the most crazy and the fanatics start throwing poop onto the art and single out the artist for a witchhunt.

So even though I may not like some of the creative works, I fully support the artists. I applaud their efforts to bring fun and beauty to this world.

I may not like what you create but I defend your right of freedom to create it.

Same with freedom of speech, I may not like what you say but I defend your right of freedom to say it.

So, anyone for supporting my art?

freedom of speech is a tricky thing. remember the riots at Berkeley...

Ongoing debate...

Thank you for supportimg Moon. I agree with you.

And thanks for your support as well.

Hi there
well said and thanks for making this interesting point
'everyone to their own'.............. is a saying that comes to mind.
if we don't like what they write or post here at Wa, it does'nt cost a lot to at least give a 'like'

Cheers again
PB

And if we don't like something, we just ignore it and move on to something that we like without clicking like. :)

If there's something we like and want to participate in, let's like like like and reply reply reply and like like like somemore. :)

yep..:))

Love it, lol! Like, like, like! Haha! Have a great day creating, my friend. Becky

Lol Becky, I like like like you back!

Always a pleasure, moon, like, like, like, haha! When I was taking piano lessons, the very first song I learned to play had been "Blue Moon," and it was one of my favorites. I believe it was created sometime in the 1930's or even earlier than that, but I nailed it. I liked, liked, liked playing the song. Becky

I like like like Blue Moon too!

Wow you play the piano, very accomplished Becky!

I like the moon whether it's blue or pale...:)

I'm not a pro, but like, like, haha, I can play the piano. It's not something I do everyday. I only took lessons for about six months, but the time spent on learning the songs were worth it.

Like, like, have a good night, onebluemoon.

Becky :)

My understanding of the blogs here, some educational, some inspirational, some entertaining and all of them designed to see what connects with folks and what doesn't connect. In the attempt to better our site content and improve presentation skills. I think generally we are all here to monetize our efforts and maybe as I say in my bio have a little fun along the way. My two cents anyway. ATB Carson 1

Hey Carson,

You are making my point exactly. When people write blogs, they have some intent behind it, whether its educational, inspirational or entertaining. What many people fail to see is that, this blog is a good platform which we should fully utilize to better ourselves, whether in terms of skills or knowledge. Writing a motivational post is good, if something motivates you, it may motivate others as well.

Writing an entertaining post, incorporated with educational points within, is also good, as it achieves two goals with one post!

I hope members realise the usefulness of the WA blog, and use it to our best advantage.

Creativity in its best form, onebluemoon! Like, like, like. Becky

ooh....thanks for the like like like :)

Fair enough on your question - I think there is room for a diverse set of people here and there are some that are more creative by nature...

There are those that want to stick to strictly business related posts, and as you say, they can just choose to ignore the more creative folks...

As long as it is not intrusive to others, I am pretty much open on this...There are some not so much open however...So I say, do your thing!

Cheers!
Dave : )

Yes, I realized that there are lots of people here in WA, and we all have different thinking and different goals. I just wish there are more understanding and tolerance for people who are more creative.

Thank you for the support.

Exactly so.
And we can't say what can be a bigger eye opener for a certain individual- a post saying "I am among the top 50 today" , or a beautiful poem, or a post saying "The sun rose today for your sake, too".
I exaggerate things a bit, but you get the picture.:)

Right, I have seen tons of posts of such stuff which are mostly fluff, but there's room for all the fluff in this world.

There are people who likes to write fluff and there are some who writes stuff, but there should be room for all.

So if you are writing fluff, I would go in and say, "thank you for the nice post" or something similar, but if you write stuff and I feel it warrants a good comment, I would write quality stuff on it as well, as reciprocation.

Yes, I don't like some posts here, but I don't have to like all and I don't have to even read all.
After all, there are tons of books in the world- I don't read them all. I read what I like. Same here. We read and like what resonates with us.
No problem whatsoever.:)

I really like what you are saying! Its a good explanation!

:))

just following our discussion:)

Nice one Vera, I have replied and let's continue with the meaningful discussion, it's much better than some useless or hazardous fluff out there.

Thanks, Moon.:)

Cool. Well said! Becky

Thanks Becky! Here surfing a bit today, looking at some different kinds of posts hehe! : )

Haha! Have a good one, Dave. Becky

Nice weekend all! It's Monday morning for me now :)

Hi moon, My time here is 9:25 am, 12 hours later, on a Monday morning. You LIKE (ha ha,) live on the other side of the world than. Cool! Night moon. Becky

Very good and timely post, Moon. What I love and appreciate WA most for (together with its trainings and the hosting platform and support and community of course),is it's freedom. If it wasn't for that, I would double think if I should stay here.
Vera

WA is teaching us a way to financial freedom, it should allow for freedom of expression too.

Yes, one can't function well without the other.:)

So, we need a balance of the two.

Yep.:)

I support your art, Moon. It's called freedom of speech.

Got it! Appreciate your support!

When you allow for the rules hedgemonists yes it is an open university for your expressions Moon!

Glad that you mention University because this is the place for us to grow and learn, test out new ideas, fail and try again and eventually succeed.

Isn't writing a creative art? We are all artists here in some shape or form. We are all working towards a common goal of improving our lives through our art. So having the freedom to create in a given environment is a blessing and should be treated as such.
We should be grateful that we can practice our art here at WA. I know we pay for it but it is so small in comparison to the freedom we get to express our art form of writing and creating web designs.
Well just my 2 cents worth. If u disagree, then that is fine, each has their own opinion and I can respect that.

Carl

ps - I am not very artsy, lol. :)

Totally agree with what you say, Carl. WA is a classroom and workshop and a gallery for presenting our works. There is no other place like that.

Writers are artists too, and our words and articles are our works of art. We are all here to learn, and I really think WA provides a great platform as well as the flexibility for all kinds of creativity. The newest platform of SiteContent encouraged us to write and write more, create and create more.

I totally agree with your 2 cents worth, and if I disagree with you, I will write it down here and hope to hear from you, so we can have an intelligent discussion about this.

Btw, I like to hear different opinions because I like to learn new things from people and see things from their point of view, so I don't mind if sometimes people disagree with me. It's a way for me to think out my concept, either further supporting it with new proofs or absorb some of your good stuff for improvement in the future.

Hi Vera,

I like how you describe WA, as a classroom, a workshop and a gallery. I would like to add, as a like-minded community who are all working together towards one goal, that is, to build up a successful website.

Count me in as one of your avid supporters of your art, Moon! I was an architecture student for 3 years in college and I do admire art from every genre!

Cheers!
Don

Hey Don, thanks for the roaring support! Not all art is good but each should be given due respect!

Yes, I agree with you Moon Just as classical music is not for everyone and neither is metallic rock, due respect should go to their proponents.

Cheers!
Don

My point exactly! You understand the concept well.
