10 days and counting

Well I have been actively here at WA for ten days and it has been quite a ride, to say the least.

I am in the fortunate position of being able to put quite a bit of time into the development of my business website so I have come quite some ways. To give you some indication, my ranking started at about 205,000 and at present it sits at just over 30,000. I am quite chuffed to see that number coming down (I'm quite the recognition junkie)

As far as my website goes i have learned a lot. One of the big "aha" moments occurred only a couple of days ago when I realised what I was doing was trying to fit a whole lot of material I had worked on and done in my pre WA days into the system here. I found it doesn't work!

So now I am starting a whole new website, taking all the great information I have learned here and applying it PROPERLY! So, here goes.

Kyle and Carson, look out my friends, I have my eye on that No 1 spot!

Hello Graham, you are doing quite well, keep up the good work.

You have come quite a ways in just 10 days, keep up the good work.

That is great for the position of #1 that is a great goal but I too am a newbie here and started in March I am down to the rank of 129 so I think that is pretty good for only being here a little of a month. Keep up the great work and you will make it to #1

Wow! #1 - that's quite the ambition! Glad you are enjoying the journey. I had a similar experience. I have other blogs and decided to start from scratch at WA - I went Premium on March 12th of this year - so still a newbie here myself.

I can tell you that once you get into the top 50 - it is much harder to get into those lower numbers. I have been hovering around 37-40 for weeks. It is a balancing act of helping here and building your own business too. I am pretty focused on my business but love helping out too - so I have 2 addictions - which serves me well in both places.

Welcome to WA and I followed you - you are obviously a mover and a shaker and those are the type people I like to follow!

I'm very impressed you have reached the top 50 in under two months. I said what I did in my blog with just a touch of tongue in my cheek, but hearing of your advancement it makes me all the more determined.
Just one question...how do you fit it all in when in addition to what you mentioned in your post you have your super-woman duties to perform as well. (or is that role supposed to be a secret)

Don;t you have a life either? :))

I have a bit of an advantage as I have been Internet marketing since the Internet was created.

I have raised 4 children - only having to get a JOB a couple of times over the years and those were short lived 1-2 years at the most. I started my first business at 12 years old.

35 years later - and I've got a lot to share.

I love helping people and I love sharing what I know - I used to teach a class 3 times a week on making wordpress blogs for businesses and 98% of my students were small businesses of one or two people.

I was born an entrepreneur, a survivor and a boot-strapper.

I treat my business like a business owner should. Some people think you can put in 1-2 hours a day and start making money hand over fist. I have found that some people may be able to do that, but that's not a plan for success that I have ever been able to make work. I read "The 4 Hour Work Week" and still work 40+ hours a week.

I put in 8-10 hours a day into my work. Which is fair because if I had to work full time somewhere other than my home, I would have to commute and that would easily add time into my work time.

Laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc. Everyone has to do some of that. I'm home - so I can do some of it while I am working. I'm seriously considering hiring a cleaning company once a week.

Part of every day is spent working on me - I read, meditate and exercise daily. Date nights and friend nights and lots of vacations. Rewards when I hit my goals are important too.

I just looked back at the book I wrote on your post and there is a lot about me!!! Ha - now I going to work a couple more hours and then -- get ready to go watch my husband play drums!

What are you doing this Saturday night?

It's actually two am Sunday morning here as I write this. I am something of a stay at home, mainly because I have dialysis three times a week including Saturday afternoon. I got home from there about 8pm, had my dinner and came onto the computer to do some work. I plan on going to bed shortly to get some much needed beauty sleep

Ah - I can understand that. Many blessings and enjoy the blogging - I know I do!

Congratulations. I'm glad you love it here. I feel the same.

Great, isn't it.?
