Keyword, Niche and Market Research

Howdy! You have terrific responses here.

I couldn't agree more with Diane and Catherine here...make sure you follow the WA formula and do your research!

-Mike

I definitely agree with Diane and would urge you to look at the posts of her business partner Partha. He has written extensively about what to do if you are bot ranking.
Alternatively you could host your site outside of WA if you want to go down the adult material route. If it was me I would try and remedy the existing site first before I went down the rabbit hole of repeating the same mistakes

Hi - actually, the Amazon online grocery sales market is absolutely huge, and is projected to hit $26 billion in the next year.

So, there is certainly demand for the products.

If you are not getting traffic, then presumably you are not ranking for any keywords.

Which means the problem may lie with your keyword research, and your content.

Google is looking for helpful, unique content, that has not been published elsewhere, and that answers what the searcher is looking for.

So, everything original, nothing copied and pasted, lots of in-depth information.

If you are making any mistakes on this website, you may well go on to repeat them with a further site.

And, a further consideration, is that there are limitations on hosting here at WA, as regards adult content.

No nudity or graphic material.

You also need to think about the legalities, such as having an age verification gateway to stop people under age from seeing it.

And, you won't be permitted to show Google ads on it.

Usually adult websites are spread via the "mouth to mouth" method. But I've seen many of them appearing on Google Results.

And that's why I wanted to move to another hosting provider, because I remember WA doesn't allow adult content.

It's pretty obvious to put an age verificiation to not allow under aged people, as it happens with all websites of adult nature.

As for website migration, it'd be a better move to move entirely to another hosting provider. It'd not be wise to pay two different hosting providers, isn't it? But when I contacted Site Support they were trying to convince me to not go.

They gave me a backup file though. Now what should I do?

Btw, I don't want to leave WA because of the community, but I want to dip into the adult theme industry. And since WA doesn't allow that...well, there's no other choice.

Once you have chosen your new hosting provider, that meets your requirements at a cost you consider reasonable, then you need to contact their support team for the next step.

Site Feedback

I've done it a couple of times.

And what was the feedback?

"Overall, the ****** website has potential to be a successful e-commerce site, but improvements in design, mobile optimization, product display, checkout process, and SEO will help to attract more customers and increase sales. The design should be modernized with a simple, clean layout that is visually appealing and easy to navigate. There are only a few product images on the website. Adding more images with detailed descriptions will help customers better understand the products and make informed decisions."

With e-commerce websites, you want to add a blog and update it with regular posts about your niche to drive organic traffic to your store and other merchants' stores.

Tbh I lost interest in my previous niche. I'm not as excited as I used to be last year. I want something new, but unfortunately WA doesn't agree with the choice of my niche.

i hear you :) You do what resonates with you.

Why I cannot upload images to my website? I'm pretty sure the size isn't a problem, because it's the same size I use always to upload images.

Always do a backup to more than one source. In case something is wrong with one, you have a mirror backup.

Dropbox is currently up and reachable.

Sorry, I do not use it, I save all to my pc.

-Mike

I used a different device with the same images, and it works

Sorry I use Google drive

Do you face problems with it lately?

There are always problems when I need to download something which is why I choose not to use it

Guess the first thing is to cancel Premium Membership, and backup my websites? Never done it before, so I don't know

i would check with the support desk at your new hosting and see if they can/will import it for you. If not, then install WordPress at your new hosting. Install wp plugin https://wpengine.com/migrate-wordpress/?utm_campaign=GS_NB_EMEA_UK_Misc&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=Migration&utm_term=all in one migration&gclid=CjwKCAjwgZCoBhBnEiwAz35RwsAmERnCFJTwmZlVwe9PqCj91Rxa3OynSvtCcl8t4rVkdFpjDyMkZBoC5-sQAvD_BwE
Go to plugin and click import /then WP site and upload your old site and press import

unfortunately with the new regime of managed hosting all backup plugins are not allowed here...
so you have to request a backup from support...
and you get a tar.gz file to upload into your new hosting...
see all the current banned plugins here

I was talking at their new hosting Phil, as I specifically mentioned I know about that rule.

apologies Catherine ...that's me being tired and skimming...
i thought you would know about the rules...
but i don't think the file support give you can be imported with all in one migration...
in the new hosting you should be able to get into the cpanel or similar and import it from there...
within the zip file they give you are three or four versions of backup over the last few days and are split into plugins, themes and database....
i've just been part way through it ...but not the rebuilding at the other end...

Abie has given you good guidance and advice.

-Mike

Ask for a backup from site support.

Ask the other hosting provider for instructions on migrating your sites over.

You may also look up their docs.
https://www.hostgator.com/help/article/how-to-transfer-your-website-to-hostgator

I won't transfer it to Hostgator. Fortunately I'm finished with this. I'll transfer to Hostinger.

The reason I decided is, because being here it's not profitable for me. I pay a premium membership on a monthly basis, and after a full year being here, I made zero sales so fa

Of course, Nick, your host is included in the price. Just a thought! I came here almost six years ago because the other hosting platforms charged more and they had NO site support at the time!

Hello Nick

Sorry to hear you are leaving WA. Be aware that building an online business takes a long time and it can take more than a year to start making money.

It depends on how much work you do and if you are being consistent. Consistency is key and so is creating original content regularly and following all the training on WA.

I want you to be aware that no matter what hosting provider you choose it won't make any difference in the money you make. If you stay here at WA you will have all the training and tools you need as well as the WA community to help you when you need it.

If you want to save some money and decide to stay on WA you could get the yearly membership and if you get it through Black Friday deal in November you will save even more money.

But the choice is yours If you want to leave WA that's fine and I wish you all the best with your websites and for your future. Before you leave make sure you find out from your new hosting provider what you need to do to transfer your websites to them. Site Support can also give you a backup of your websites if you need it.

If you would like some feedback on your websites let me know. I might be able to provide you some insights on how you can improve things and why you are not making money. I'm happy to do this for you any time.

I hope this helps you and makes sense. I wish you all the best with your websites and with all your online endeavors. All the best to your success.

Regards

Timothy

Abie has you very well covered here!

-Mike

You need to contact the other host and find instructions how to migrate yours to theirs.

Also look in their docs.

I sent also a private message. Did you see it?

I am trying to be a SuperMom lol

Getting Started

I bought a baby plan and I wanted to create a website in another CMS apart from Wordpress. I was getting errors when I was trying to do so, and now I wanted to ask for a refund

Hi - have you read their instructions and terms and conditions?

https://www.hostgator.com/help/article/how-do-i-get-the-45-day-money-back-refund

I once again pressed the cancelation form, and that's what I get (see screenshot. That's really serious, and I'm afraid I was scammed. I just started only 2 days ago, so I have time till I get a refund.

Well, I can't imagine that a well-known, reputable site such as Hostgator would scam you.

Rate limiting is a period set by a website, that limits the number of requests you can make in a specified time period.

So, if you have sent a lot of requests, you will be temporarily banned.

I have no idea what the rate limit is or how long you will be banned for.

Obviously I sent multiple requests, but now I cannot even log in to the "Portal" website. I don't want to believe that's a scam, but still I hope I'll get my refund anyway. I don't want to continue to Hostgator, because of my bad experience.
Any other suggestions of hosting providers who DON'T support Wordpress?

You need to check with Hostgator support

They only have a Live Chat, and as I said I sent an email, but with no answer so far, with more than 24 hours being passed.
Live Chat is a bot, so it's hardly helpful

The HostGator might not be WA; Also, it is the weekend, it might take longer.

How did you pay for your purchase?

Their site may be under maintenance.

I paid a "Baby Plan" as it's called, and I paid with my Bank account. Hope it's because of the weekend. the reason they don't answer.

To qualify for a refund, "packages paid for with checks, money orders, or bank wire transfers are not eligible for a refund." - Were you aware? However, I presume you used a debit card?

This is no good. And if someone's not satisfied with the services and didn't find what they were looking for? To accept keeping their account? I created a Hostgator account in order to avoid Wordpress. So IF IN CASE (hope I will get refunded) they won't accept my request....how can I carry on with Hostgator and use it, if they have only Wordpress as it seems?

Yes I used a debit card, exactly
