If Only....I took the road less traveled.

So back in the day when I got started in internet marketing, I had a friend named "Nathan"

I only knew Nathan online, we were both 17, and we both got started in internet marketing at the same time.

I followed the crowd, I promoted products for high commissions, I wrote lots of articles for traffic, and I made huge flashy review pages for products. I'll even admit that I was one of those annoying spammers, spamming my way to the top of google.

Nathan worked towards building a website, he built an empire, a huge blog, he only reviewed products he truly cared about, he didn't worry about backlinks, just about site content.

I thought he was crazy, I was making alright money after a few months, and he wasn't making anything for awhile.

All of my sites are gone now, done for, I don't get much from them anymore, and most of the flashy pages I took down.

I just talked to Nathan for the first time in a few years, his site is still up and running, a huge authority in Google, he has books out on Amazon now, he's a big name. He told me he's been doing well, and he's really just happy with his site.

So now I'm going down the same path, it'll take me awhile, but i'll get there. This is just a warning to everyone else though, the stuff taught here works, don't go down that flashy page path, it won't lead you anywhere good and long term. The best results take awhile to reach.

Just my two cents of the day :)

Very good read and I hope many people on WA will read this. Cutting corners and running after a quick buck might be very attractive but it doesn't last.

This online business is actually a BUSINESS and must be treated as such. Think long term, think quality.

To our success,

- Alex

An oak tree takes a little while to grow as big as it is...

Such a good point. I like that statement a lot.

Great post and here at WA we are reminded of this daily. All of life is a process...patience is a virtue. Welcome back to WA and cheers to your success!! :-)

Thanks, yes patience is a virtue, it's just a tough one to learn :)

Excellent post, thanks for sharing!

Thanks Carter, I always love your stuff.

Well said, my friend. My path has been similar, shocked into various rabbit trails by guru-itis.
I wish you the best,
Bill

I think we've all been there :) I can still remember all those dang products that I bought, none of them ever did me any good.
