Finding Your Passion!

What I would like to share with you is a simple way to find you’re WHY and why it is necessary to do it. I said it is simple, but it definitely is not easy. There is PAIN involved, but like the late Jim Rohn has said – “We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment”.

It is simple to do, but not EASY, otherwise everyone would do it, but like I have learned, you either suffer the PAIN of Learning or Suffer the PAIN of FAILURE and that means working for someone else in my book. The choice is yours!

Simon Sinek says it best, “Every single organization on the planet, even our own careers, function on three levels:”

1. What we do

2. How we do it, and

3. Why we do it.

I believe of these three the most important for SUCCESS is WHY we do it! If you don’t determine the WHY, the other two will not happen accept under SLAVERY in a J.O.B. situation. Where are taught to do things in the way of someone else (that is painful as well) who has learned to do it the hard way, through PAIN, because his WHY was big enough to suffer the PAIN of learning skills to achieve his DREAMS. You follow orders and will never be FREE, You are a SLAVE!!

So Are You Ready to Start The Journey OR ARE YOU GOING TO STAY WHERE YOU ARE?

Where to Start?

You first have to ask yourself the following question and answer it honestly.

What If - Money was no problem – let’s take it out of the equation. You have as much as you want to, what would your life look like then? What would you be passionately doing that you cannot do now? Where would you live? Who would you be associated with? What pleasurable thought wake you at night? What activities let you wake up very early without setting an alarm (which by the way is ridiculous to use because alarms are used in case of emergencies, but this is a story for another day)?

If you can answer this honestly and it differs from where you are right now, carry on reading and take the journey with me.

Killing the WHY!

If you’ve ever spent time kids and got tired of: “Why?” everything you do or they have to do they want to know WHY? It is the one most important thing to them at that age and they will not move to do anything if you don’t tell them WHY they should do it. Then we start with EDUCATION and they get taught not to ask WHY all the time. We kill our children’s WHY and with it their dreams. We start working for someone else on their dream and we get sold it is for the salary and benefits. It is so common we all belief that.

When You Were a Kid of 6 or 7 Years Old

When you were 6 or 7 you had an imaginary visions; what car did you drive, where did you live, who was your friends. What interested you when you were young?

That was the real pictures of your life’s purpose why you were born. The purpose of what you should become one day, the life you had to follow to put value into other people’s lives and at the same time make you ecstatic about your life. Everything you do, should be a pleasure to do, not a burden. You should look forward to tomorrow with anticipation and not fear. It should be as exciting as going on a new adventure every moment of your live.

The First Lightbulb Moment of Your Why.

We all start in a business after a presentation where something inside was triggered to wake up. We then feel highly motivated and want to do that THING! And if we do not take the first step there and then, we postpone until we forget about it. At the time of the presentation we saw something that we wanted all our live, an urge we were born with deep inside of us. We all had a childhood dream, a wish, or something that was hidden inside of us for many years and if it is triggered you have an urge to WANT it at that moment. If you don’t feed it immediately it will die inside you again.

The Dream Board.

When I started in Network Marketing, my mentor told to me to write down all my Dreams and build a DREAM BOARD. I did all that, but still could not get going, I wanted to know WHAT I must do and HOW do I do it and get out of my way. For my personality, that is enough, I will do it, but soon I realised the people around me started and then disappeared, they gave up at the first obstacle. I went back to the dream Board many times and every time came back inspired to try once more or a different strategy, but kept on keeping on.

Growing of the Seed.

Every time I came back, it was with a new plan and a new determination. I started investigating and interviewed people that dropped out and had the same answer, “it was too difficult and time consuming”. I could not understand this, because for the same reason they started, they stopped. To have more time, freedom and MONEY! So money was not the WHY. While starting to earn they stop? If Money was your WHY, get a printing machine. The question is what do you want to do with that money?

The Study.

I went back and started reading books, highlights in books and I stumbled onto this phrase - “if the dream is big enough the facts don’t count!” – (Dexter Yager, one of the greatest Network Marketers of all times.) The first time I heard this it blew me away, it sounded like being dishonest and do whatever it takes. Suddenly it made sense! I wanted to be free and help people around me not to be BOSSED by other people. It became a passion to get people free from unfair labour practices and self-induced SLAVERY. I had a tool in my hand that could do just this this and it became an obsession with me. This is where I had to start to discover my WHY and I want to take you on this short journey with me.

In a video by Patrick Bet-David he explains Why People do Things as follows: -

  • 1.Survival – some people just want to survive and they do whatever it takes, but this is the lowest form of your WHY. Here you make enough to survive, but you will not give your life for it.
  • 2.Status – to be able to tell and show their friends their lifestyle and receive compliments on their achievements. At this level of WHY where you will start fighting to keep your posture.
  • 3.Freedom – and this is getting to the level WHY, of self-satisfaction to do what you do when you want to. This is when you become selfish and cherries your time with family and friends and do the things you love to do. Fishing, travelling, hobbies etc.
  • 4.Purpose – and this is that inner WHY – your life’s purpose and nothing good or bad will distract you from doing that to the best of your ability. This is when your life has a purpose and you will die for what you belief and do.

Now what is the WHY?

The late Great Muhammad Ali said: - "Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill." They are made from a desire a WHY!

The WHY is you greater purpose, the reason you were here and the purpose of what you need to do and accomplish. In other words: - “The Legacy You are Going to Leave Behind.” It is not material and this also has a purpose, it is not financial, it is not TIME. It is that DESIRE deep inside of you to be somebody!

How do you determine and bring your WHY to life?

German philosopher Frederick Nietzsche once said, “He who has a WHY can endure anyhow.”

You have to be in a positive environment, with likeminded, that have either found their WHY or looking for their WHY that can help motivate you and cultivate the SEEDS that were sown inside of you.Feed them water them cherries them without stopping you from finding your WHY.

It can start with writing as many DREAMS as possible on your Dream Board, talk to people about it and make it real in your life, no matter who laughs at you. Remember, “The best way of REVENGE is massive SUCCESS”. Let them laugh you just keep focusing on your DREAMS and get to your WHY.

So what is the WHY? – It is the Key to Eternal Happiness!

It Is The Purpose Of Your Life! Find it and you will find eternal HAPPINESS!

Thanks, Niel for true words and ideas

Great post Niel. Every person's why is intensely personal which must be embraced without worrying about what others think or say about it.

It is about what you say to yourself when you close your eyes and don't see other people trying to hold you back or pull you down.
It is all about YOU.

Good article !!! I just read a nasty article about affiliate marketing yesterday. So it was good to hear this.

Thanks. The problem with affiliate marketing is the upselling that is totally miss used. You start off with a small budget and before you get going, you run out of pocket. If you want to know something, you just have to buy another program for $499 or get a coach for $2000 and before you realise, you run out of money and cannot continue.
I believe, and that is me, that in any ethical and moral business, you should have an idea of what your capital outlay it is going to be before you start getting a return on investment.
What I found on this platform is none of that bullshit and an overload of help if you dare to ask.
Thanks Wealthy Affiliate for the help and patients, Gordon, with people like me.

Inspirational Niel, nice blog :-)
