My Happy Place

Yesterday was not so good of a day for me as I found out that my child was bullied in school. I, of course tried to speak with the principal but since she's unavailable, I was asked if I would like to speak with the assistant principal.

That was not a good idea as his principle and whole idea about bullying and the incident that occurred was not aligned with mine. (that's a totally long and winding blog to focus on).

As I was consumed with my frustrations and anger after speaking with the assistant principal, I stared at my daughters and told myself to calm down and contain myself as I will not get to accomplish anything by being angry. I will have to show my children that I maybe frustrated at that time but I will not let that ruin my day and that tomorrow is another day!

So as soon as my household chores were done, I logged on to my computer and started networking with WA community, which all of a sudden made me feel better. Reading different blogs, messages and reading different member's stories, I was brought back to a better mood and a better state of mind.

WA community is such a friendly and kind virtual environment to be in. Those virtual pat on the back, hugs, sweet and kind messages are sure enough to beat that feelings of sadness and anger. Those words of encouragements that we give each and every one here sure is helping a lot of us as we all are in different stages in our lives,in different moods and emotions.

So WA members..you all ROCK!!!

WA helps with lots of things, doesn't it? Good to have someplace positive to go.

Isn’t it great?

Hi Nida,
So sorry to hear that your daughter was bullied! Kids are just so mean!! Not all of them of course, but bullying is caused from the person(s) doing it have a very low self esteem of them selfs!!! Let us know how things go. Praying this will be resolved:)
Donna

Thank you Donna. You’re right it’s hard to just fully blame the child that was doing the bullying, there should be a way to help this children realize that their actions are wrong and where are those stemming from!

The school system is not fully there to help our children. There’s no proper process implemented yet. Haaay.

I appreciate you Donna. You made me feel better.

Nida

You are most welcome Nida!
God bless,
Donna

Hi Mida, unfortunately, bullying is everywhere. Once you have completely cooled down I would report this incident somewhere above the principals rank. Those things can bloom and become worse. I'm glad you found peace here at WA.

Thanks for opening up about your bad day!

Cal

Thank you. Yes our society and our young ones has a lot going on! But I appreciate you stopping by.

Take care.

Nida

Sorry to hear that your children have been victims of bullying. I definitely feel for your kids because I have been bullied when I was in high-school. Luckily for me though, the principal took immediate action.

It's hard when others don't seem to understand the impact that bullying has on somebody's self-esteem and confidence. I would have been upset too. I would suggest that you still book an appointment with the principal as soon as he/she is available to voice out your concerns.

On the other hand though, I agree with you. WA is the perfect place to come to when you're feeling down. We are a real community and will always help each other out. Working on my online business always makes me feel better... :)

Hugs to you and your family,
Reyhana

Thank you Reyhana. I appreciate your heartwarming comment. You cheered me up!

Hugs back to you!

Nida

Sadly some principals will never respond, and higher up the chain will only make them irritated with your kids, as you've caused trouble for them.

Honestly, if it continues, take them to karate lessons (builds self confidence), change schools or home school. The bullies often take over the schools and their parents defend their actions to the death in the principal's office.

Hope your child never experiences anything like that again.

Thank you Jeannine. Yes building up my daughter’s confidence is one that I need to work on. Appreciate your suggestions.

Take care.

Nida

Aw, hugs to you NIDA, you were the better person and great to know we are here for you :) hugs hugs

Thank you Snazzy. Yes, WA members are a great comfort giver!

Nida,
Sorry your child went through this. I'm in full agreement with Ellen... go higher up in the chain!!
I am happy that you were able to come into WA, and find a happy place.
Shaunna

Nida

Nida,
My heart goes out to you and your daughter. Wishing you many blessings. I hope that you find resolution with that situation.
Dina:)

Thank you Dina. Appreciate you.

Take care.

Nida

Nida,
My husband's on the local school committee. If you cannot reach the principal and the vice principal is also of no use, you can go to the Superintendent or the School Committee with your concerns.
Ellen

Great advice Ellen!!

Thank you Ellen. I really appreciate the suggestions and info.

Take care.

Nida
