When we share whatever we have with others, it shows our wisdom because we learn from sharing, we build trust, strengthen our relationships, develop new skills and understanding.
Discussion of the Quote:We have two ears and one mouth; therefore, we should listen twice as much as we speak. For us to choose to listen to what others have to say, it shows our strength to refrain from speaking. We have to be silent when we listen and focus our energy on listening. Therefore, we gain strength because we are not speaking, but we also gain knowledge and ideas when we engage in communication with others. We learn from each other and thus become stronger as a result.
Additionally, when we choose to share what we have. It shows that we are smart to know that when we share what we have it multiplies and becomes bigger and greater than if we keep what we have to ourselves whether it be knowledge, ideas, experiences, gifts, time, attention, you name it. More importantly, what we share always comes back to us ten fold.

On the other hand, sharing our ideas, knowledge, experiences and more can help us to gain clarity for ourselves and thus become better equipped at our own problem-solving as well as boost our creativity.
Finally, the quote highlights the importance of listening and sharing. Listening shows us how to be open and receptive to others while sharing teaches us to actively participate in the exchange of knowledge and ideas. When we listen and share, we learn from others which helps us to grow and improve ourselves in the process because each one, teaches one.

I agree. At work, I got forced to train a new guy. Being set in my ways, I was very reluctant to do this. I liked my space and didn’t want anyone being in it.
Over time, I realized that sharing and teaching actually taught me more about myself. We all learn from each other no matter where we are in life. We have a special bond now and continue to help each other grow.

I tend to do less talking in any conversation.

Out of the listening, we should try and understand, too. Sometimes we listen but do not really hear what someone is saying. Words can sometimes fall on our ears as "white noise". Thanks for your insights, Nichola on this thoughtful quote. All the best.

Hi Nichola, missed your quote posts. Loved this quote, it takes strength to humble oneself to listen, and as you mention sharing allows the idea to grow and be tested by more people. This reminds me of the "patent" system where one gets some exclusivity in idea protection for sharing their invention so others can learn from it.
