Chapter 2 Desire

In this chapter that discusses desire, it is said that the starting point of all achievement is desire. It says, it is the first step toward riches.

Is it just any form of desire that is the first step to riches? No! It is said that a burning desire is essential for success. A desire to the point of obsession is what is required to win. Furthermore, desire is not the only prerequisite for riches. Your burning desire must be backed with a specific plan with definite ways and means to accomplish riches. Also, your plan has to be carried out with persistence which does not recognize failure, is what will bring riches.

Additionally, there are six definite, practical steps in the method by which desire can be transmuted into its financial equivalent. The following are the six steps:

Step 1 - Fix your mind on the exact amount of money you desire - specific amount is required.

Step 2 - You have to be willing to give something in return for the money you desire. Whatever it is - you name.

Step 3 - Set a specific time - date when you will have the money you desire.

Step 4 - Create a definite plan to accomplish your desire. You must begin immediately. There must be no delay to put your plan into action.

Step 5 - Write a concise statement of the amount of money you intend to achieve, name the time - date for its acquisition, state what you will give in return for the money you desire and clearly write out the plan you will use to acquire it.

Step 6 - Read the statement you wrote in step 5 aloud twice daily - once in the morning as soon as you awake and then at night before you go to sleep. You must see, feel and believe you already possess the money you desire.

The above steps do not require “hard labor” nor do they call for a great amount of education, also they do not require you to be ridiculous. However, you should have sufficient imagination to enact your burning desire.

Moreover, “Success requires no apologies, failure permits no alibis.” If you believe in what you wish to do, go ahead and do it. Do not quit. A burning desire has devious ways of transmuting itself into its physical equivalent. There is nothing which belief plus a burning desire cannot make real.

Finally, “Through some strange and powerful principle of “mental chemistry” which she has never divulged, Nature wraps up in the impulse of Strong Desire “that something” which recognizes no such word as impossible, and accepts no such reality as failure.”
