Indeed, others and situations will affect you negatively or positively if you allow them to. However, you are in control of when or how you will be affected by things and people outside yourself.

We have to realize that things and people will throw situations at us. It is within our own power to control how or if we react to them. Let your emotions or reactions be rooted by what is your truth and what benefits you.

We can not allow ourselves to be controlled by things or people outside of ourselves. Our reactions should be based on what serves our purposes and not what serves the purposes of others.
