Steadily Winning The Race

I was very skeptical about online business and for good reasons. I have spent thousands of dollars in on online businesses with no success.

I stumbled upon WA while I was browsing the internet one night and after reading much about it, I decided to give it a try. And so here I am.

Today I want to talk a little bit about my progress, success and of course things that I find difficult to master.

When I came to WA, I immediately updated to premium because I'm serious about this business and I want to make the most of it. However, I was a bit restless about the uncertainty.

Knots In My Stomach

When I found out that I had to create a website on lesson level 1, I immediately thought, ok, this is not for me. I know absolutely nothing about creating a website.

I felt knots in my stomach at the sound of me creating a website.

Bear with me for a moment, first off all, I thought: Don't I need to be some type of computer genius? To be honest with you, I have very little knowledge in computer.

My skills are very limited when it comes to computer although I use it often.

I felt paralyzed for a moment. As I continue to listened to Kyle talking about how easy it is to set up your website and how he would go to it step by step, I felt a little relief.

Just when I was getting over the fear of creating a website, I was told to come up with a niche.

A what? Yes, a niche.

At that time I had no idea what a niche was. I think I spent about two weeks trying to come up with a niche.

As I move forward into the lessons, I realized that I had to make a decision. Whether to stay behind or go forward.

I had to change my mind set.

I begin to see WA for what it really is. Wealthy Affiliate is a classroom. And I am passionate about education.

Education allows you to grow and expend, and discover new territory. So I decided to move forward.

One Step At A Time

I am steadily winning the race. I may move as slow as a turtle, but I have decided not to stop along the way, nor quit. I must win the race, slowly but surely.

We are living in a world where instant gratification is being sold to us on a daily basis, and to most of us it seems appealing. However, when things don't happen as fast as we hope, sometime we get discourage and many of us ended up giving up.

Progress may come slow, but it does to those who have a plan and stick to it. As many of you can see, I am not a writer. Yet, so far I have written one page, and 8 posts. I am now on level 2 lessons # 10.

My progress is not as fast as I would like it to be, but I made a commitment to myself that I will keep on going until I make it to the finish line.

Progress by definition means forward, onward movement toward a destination.

I am learning new things, getting to know members and all the inspired posts bring a delightful smile in my face.

A Bit Frustrated

Have you ever tried something so many times just to ended up not getting it? I struggled with couple of things. For example, my website does not appear too appealing for me.

as I mentioned before, I am on level 2 lessons # 10, but there are couple things in level 2 lesson # 6 that aren't clear for me yet.

I have go over that lesson so many times and still can't get it.

Kyle made it seem so plain and simple when I watched the video. However, when I tried to do the task I just keep getting it wrong.

I'm doing things that I don't necessary like doing, such as doing research before writing a post, reading more about my choosing niche and so forth.

All these things sometimes make me feel uneasy and frustrated.

Sometime I look at the screen of my laptop and I just feel like screaming.

There are somethings which I have found hard to master. But I'm happy to know hard does not mean impossible.

I Desire Result

Result is wonderful and it should be celebrated. However, success and failure goes hand in hand, meaning there is no success without failure.

Usually when we succeed at something, it is because we have tried different way. And if you never failed at something, it simply means that you never put out any effort to try it.

When Thomas Edison was asked about failure, he said, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work".

Over the years I have learned that lying and waiting is not going to open up the door. When the opportunity presents itself you must be ready and willing to take it.

I am in it to win it. Success is good. Frustration, and heartache, and failure may come, some of which maybe excellent sources of knowledge.

Thank God I have the courage and the endurance to weather the storm and make it across the finish line.

Although I am new at WA, I have learned new terminologies, my computer skills are improving, and my writing skills are getting better.

You see, everyone can succeed.

You know why, because success is not a race where there is one winner, nor is it a reason that require you to step on others to move ahead.

We all can win at our own pace.

For those of you that are moving at a faster rate in WA, kudos to you, well done. However, if you find yourself moving at a slower pace than most, don't be discourage. Keep on moving and one day you too can be seen in the finish line.

Excellent post Nicole. I can TOTALLY identify with everything you said about getting frustrated. I thought I was progressing quite well until I hit a 'wall' on Level 2, Lesson 6. I think I have been trying to write the required post (with images) for about 2 weeks now so I really do understand where you are coming from.
Today I will try again to get it together because I have to get through this and on to the next lesson!
Thank you for sharing, it's nice to know I am not the only one who feels like screaming!
Cheers,
Rab
