Trying to Pick a Name for My Website 2
Hi to everyone who has helped me with this task!
As I have explained to a few people, I am geting really behind because I am trying really hard to get everything done before my best girlfriend goes in for major surgery. I want to be there for her as much as possible.
Anyway, I am really excited because I squeaked out a few minutes to work on this name problem I am having and I was able come up with a short list. It is in no way final but I thought I would stick it up and see what everyone thinks. I would like to know if one particularly stands out or if they are all rubbish. If you have a few minutes, could you please tell me the why, of what works or doesn't. Or what the name makes you think of. There are a couple on the list that I like and a couple I am not too fond of but thought it would get the ideas flowing. :-)
These are all .com
mydisableddiary
mydisabledsoul
disabledbutfree
myalternatelyabledlife
alternatelyabled
limitmylimitations
nomoredisability
findingabilities
Thanks all for the help, in advance - lol!!

The best thing I suggest is plug these names into the keyword tool or jaaxy to see how they rank then go from there
The one that jumps out at me is limitmylimitations. I feel that one captures what you have told me about what you want your website to be. It's all about freeing a person's mind from thinking they are more limited than they actually are - no matter what their disability.
I do not like mydiabledsoul - it just has such a negative feel to it for me.
Those are my top and bottom picks :)
Not crazy about: mydisaleddiary for about same reasons.
I think nomoredisability could possibly be misleading - almost sounds like you're curing something.
alternatelyabled and then myalternatelyabledlife would be my 2nd and 3rd picks as a thumbs up.
I really like limitmylimitations. Just thought I'd mention that again lol
I like several. #1 would be mydisabledsoul #2 disabledbutfree #3 limitmylimitations
Hope this helps! They're all pretty good, though.

Ok, thanks to all for all of the feed back! I have narrowed it down to 3 from the list but thought of another.
Left in the running:
Limitmylimitations - really like but worried it is a bit long
alternatelyabled- Is it a bit too finger twisting to type?
findingabilities - I like this but no one mentioned...
New Idea - DIYDisabled - I really want to focus on not just buying a solution to a disabled problem but on ways to fix stuff up to make it work for a particular disability. Also on ways to fix up our own lives because it is not enough to rely on the government for our care. I am also a complete DIY nut.
DIYdisabled is pretty cool.
I was looking at what I had typed earlier and I must have been rushing cuz lots of mis-spellings lol.
I guess limitmylimitations is kinda long but it is catchy :)
You could run them through Jaaxy like other people suggested,
Good luck :)
It doesn't seem that any of them come back great thru jaaxy, if I am I am doing it right, lol. And, no worries about spelling errors. Half the time I am on here from my phone and it is so impossibly small to see, I am sure half my answers look ummm, absolutely wonderful...hee hee
lol absolutely.
To be honest, I only mentioned that because I've seen other members give that advice. Personally I think the name of your website is something more personal. Keywords definitely help with articles you write.
I didn't use a keyword search for the name of either of my sites. Just my two cents :)
Go with the one that feels right to you, the one that you feel represents your topic overall. I think you're leaning towards the DIY one ;)
Thanks Angela, I am really leaning towards the DIY one. The DIY part is quite popular right now. I am also thinking of working the limit my limitations into the site. Maybe my own special slogan, yup I am a dweeb... I did a little more digging on the keyword preference and after watching the webinar tonight, it definitely seems a mixed bag. I definitely get why people say to do it but I also know that personally, I never look at a websites address. I thumb thru Google and click on a description I like and then if I find the site useful, I click my favorites button. After a few times of visiting, then I might actually pay attention to their Web address. Then again, I am a little ummm, special about these things. This is why I am trying really hard to follow the advice here. :-)
lol, well I'm a little special too. I do the same thing. You could use the limit my limitations as a logo. I know on both my sites I have my title and a kind of logo. So you could call the site DIY and then the logo could be limiting limitations, or limit your limitations, or Limitless Life.
DIY is popular. I think you would be good with that one.
Following advice is ok, but if there is something you just really want to do then you should go for it.
Remember the reasons behind doing the site. It's not only to make money. ;)
