Bitter Sweet Ending That Opens New Doors

I have finally done it ladies and gentleman, yes it has taken me a little longer than what I would of have liked. I stuck to my guns and pressed on. Struggling at times it seemed like it was all against me in some form or another.

Not getting a certain post indexed, not having any traffic, no sales and the worry of my WA rank really made it rough to focus on the main task at hand. Trying to stay on the right path and finding motivation to create great content also lead me to the verge of wanting to cancel my membership with Wealthy Affiliate.

Having that feeling inside of me that I am not smart, or educated enough to know how Affiliate Marketing works and that it will never happen for me...

"Seems so confusing, how can I proceed to make a successful website work that could generate any income"?

So what's the point of me continuing?

Maybe it was information overload that started to take a toll on me, during the training I was absorbing all the information I could possibly take in. Also, I was learning from others who were asking questions themselves in the Live Chat.

I felt that I needed to learn and know everything I could in order for me to become successful in my niche.

If some one in Live Chat asked a question that could somewhat be related to what I felt my website needed, than I would focus on that one thing. Making my tweaks and adjustments here and there to my website until I felt it was right.

Please, do not get me wrong I had my fair share of questions as well.

Then sure enough I would come across another question that was asked, someone would respond like always with the answer which was great for me. There I was back at it again thinking, "Oh, that's what I need to do for my site as well".

By doing this daily I slowly found myself straying away from the training provided and venturing out on my own a tad bit.

Luckily, that voice inside my head kept telling me to take a short break and a step back from everything to clear my mind. I was trying to take on too much all at once and trying to fit every bit of information I could find into the storage file in my head.

Then it hit me, when I logged in the only thing I really needed to do for about 10 minutes is see what is going on in the Live Chat and see what's new then straight to training. If I came across a "nugget" that I thought may be beneficial to me later down the road, I would simply copy and paste it onto a non-published Site-Content page I had created.

I'am a information hoarder, but I will never quit.

As one can see below these are just a few of the helpful links I would copy and paste from fellow WA's who have offered to help and lend any advice for those of us who may struggle from time-to-time.

I know I can type what I needed an answer to into the search bar at the top of the page, but I had a need to feel that the questions being answered were coming from of the top helpers within the community.

It has been easier for me creating a little system for myself when it comes to saving any little "nugget" of information I came across, it seems to work when I need to refer to any issue I may run across.

I have finished the training and it is time for Boot Camp!!!

P.S. For anyone who is still new here at Wealthy Affiliate and if you are finding some training and information overwhelming, take a step back and breath. This is not a contest, no need to try to rush to be in first place. Take your time and create a learning system that works for you...

Sometimes you have to treat learning and business like a onion. You peal it one layer at a time and sometimes it makes you cry.
Cheers
Dave

Thanks Dave, yes it does make one want to cry at times.

Cheers to you!

There is truly so much information to absorb, Fred. Don't let it overwhelm you. As you said, just step back and take a break.
Can't tell you how many times we have gone back over things again and again.
This business, if you are new to it as we were (and still are), is not something you learn overnight. It is layer upon layer. Just take those layers one at a time. That system you have sounds very helpful.
You will succeed! Hang in there and know that we are on the journey with you.

At first it was overwhelming with trying to learn so much at once, now that I have a learning system in place that helps me I feel staying on track will be easy.

Best Wishes!

Hi Fred, It seems you were able to overcome all the negative thought you encountered along your way. It's a good trait because it means you have perseverance to your business. Being even-tempered person always win thee battle. So Good luck Fred.

Great post Newlife79,

I can relate to the overload part.
I'm new as well,(only 2 months here @ WA), I do love the learning and doing initiative here too.

Because of my niche, I find myself researching sometimes more than actually producing my content as well.
Some topics I need to learn about and other times it is just my instinctual knowledge sponge habits kicking in.

It's good to know I am not the only one who does this.
I definitely need to get back to basics before it's too late so, my goal this week is to do just that and organize things better.

Thanks for sharing your story and the awesome tip.
Enjoy the break. :)

Have a Happy Day!
