Comments: The Death of a Salesman!
Whether you plan on simply running an eCommerce store where you sell products on the internet or intend on becoming a full time blogger, one thing that you will find to be helpful in growing your online presence and recognition of your brand is offering free input to the folks who look to you for solutions.
Even though you plan to increase your conversions of sales, don't go into your journey as an online entrepreneur being "sale-sy." Don't even think about it!
You are a resource in their eyes. An invaluable place to where they go to either get products or find out information. This is all the more reason why you should take the extra initiative to engage in platforms that offer the opportunity to let your personality shine, provide solutions to common concerns in your niche and just be a plain ole' person giving feedback to other plain ole' people.
Simply put,
This makes you real.
Being real makes you relatable.
Being relatable makes it easier to engage your visitors.
Engaged visitors translates into word of mouth marketing and MORE CLICKS to your eCommerce store, website or blog!
And what's the single best way to engage your visitors?
Through C-O-M-M-E-N-T-S! Comments here! Comments there! Comments, comments everywhere!
This doesn't just mean by offering comments on your site, but also by actually taking the time to join and participate in at least one forum that you like and offering solid and helpful tips, tricks, suggestions and insights-- which should be easy for you to offer since you are genuinely interested in the forum, remember? (Smile)
If you're someone who really doesn't have the time to comment or reply to comments all day (or maybe your attention span won't allow for it, like mine), then commenting on social media channels will maximize your potential (even if you don't participate or comment on forums. I mean, if you think about it, people are much quicker to read 140 words than, perhaps, say, a book, or even a complete blog post for that matter!
Just when you thought you were doing enough
Hunger, love, pain, fear are some of those inner forces which rule the individual's instinct for self preservation.
It was Albert Einstein who said, "Hunger, love, pain, and fear are some of the inner forces which rule the individuals instinct for self preservation." And I can't think of a better analogy to how you likely see things on a daily basis as an online entrepreneur.
Do you not have a deep desire to be just a tad bit more successful in your efforts to build an online business? That's hunger.
Doesn't the love you have for your family and being a part of the online business community fill your heart? That's love.
The slight disappointment and hollow tingle you feel in your body when one of your BIG IDEAS didn't do as well as you'd expected. That, my friend, is what you and I know as a form of emotional pain.
And when you sense that maybe you shouldn't have paid your last $897 of savings into this great new product that's supposed to teach you how to make 1,000 dollars in a month... Yeah, I'm pretty sure that you were slightly fearful that maybe you had made a mistake.
These are the things that will drive you to dominate your niche with your online business, if you STAY ON TRACK.
Here's a few tips I outline on how you can increase your conversions to sales online. Check it out at http://tinyurl.com/gtyo3nj
The moment you're laughing so hard and think about stopping, but you look at your rank and stick at it... That's what quality engagement is made of.
- Real, compassionate feedback to comments on WordPress or your blogging platform
- Asking for comments and shared stories on your website in each post.
- Regularly providing a comment on forums that you have a personal interest in
- Writing a few words on social media channels (if nothing else).
This is how you will build organic awareness of your brand and become the main character in the play, The Death of A Salesman!
...You've got this!
All the best,
Nerissa S.
P.S. If you're a WA member too, you don't really have to put a bunch of planning into commenting on other peoples blog posts-- simply because they give you a free tool so you can quickly visit the blogs you are interested in and comment if you want. It's really unheard of and quite ingenious-- I typically try to check out other blogs and do at least 10 comments every three days or so. It literally takes me just a few minutes to "engage" folks through commenting on a few blogs that I love to read. But that's me.
It should be fine if you only have the time to do three comments a week, or so (but in keeping it real with you, remember it'll just take you a little longer to build a steady flow of ENGAGED visitors to your site if you only comment on forums and other peoples blogs 3-4 times a week.)
