6 Great Months at WA! 6 Valuable Affiliate Marketing Lessons so far.

It's 6 months already! Unbelievable! I still remember the day when I decided to try Wealthy Affiliate after a number of fledgling attempts to find the right affiliate marketing network.

During my time at WA, I had a number of ups and downs. On balance, it has been mostly ups. I have reached a WA rank of 45, and one of my recent posts has made it to the number 1 of Top Posts! Just in case you have not seen it, here is the link 3 Easy Ways to make Your Site more Beautiful!

After 6 months, I would like to give something back to the WA community.

Today's post is about 6 valuable lessons that I learned at WA. I am writing this post with one goal in mind - to HELP YOU SUCCEED in affiliate marketing and beyond!

#1. Be patient

In my 6 months, I have seen some WA members rise as high as the level of Ambassador, and then suddenly fall silent. In one particular case, I reached out to the ex-Ambassador and enquired what happened. I understood that he simply got burned out.

The problem with fast paced WA members is that they put so much effort and energy into WA blogging and commenting, that they ultimately cannot keep up with the pace themselves, and ultimately they burn out 🔥🔥🔥!

Don't do this to yourself! Be patient and consistent. You will get to your goals, but look at the entire process as a long game, rather than a short spurt.

The same principle applies to affiliate marketing. You need time before search engines index your site, and before your site gets the authority to rank high. Results will come, but please be patient. Affiliate marketing rewards patience!

PROBLEM: No results.

SOLUTION: Be patient and consistent. Results will come.

# 2. Set SMART Goals

Time and again, I see people getting disappointed and giving up, because they were not able to set goals and achieve them. One way to overcome this problem is by setting yourself SMART goals. One of the key features of SMART goals is that they should be measurable. Try to set a goal that is easily quantifiable. Also, don't forget to set a time frame. For example, you could decide to achieve 10 affiliate sales by the end of the year. Then work towards this goal - you will see how motivating your affiliate marketing experience will become!

PROBLEM: No motivation.

SOLUTION: Set SMART Goals!

#3. Keep on Publishing

The only reason I achieved my ranking of 45 (which slippped a bit in the meantime), is that I have been publishing posts consistently and with WA members in mind. Did I publish a lot? No. This is my post Nr 19 - well below many WA members who published 100s of posts so far.

The same principle applies to affiliate marketing. You need to publish quality content on a regular and consistent basis. 📕📕📕 Once you do that, your readers will reward you with their loyalty and their custom.

PROBLEM: Jumping between ideas and projects.

SOLUTION: Keep on publishing on a consistent basis.

#4. Build Beautiful Sites

After reviewing a large number of WA member sites, I have noticed that the most successful WA members have the most beautiful sites. The reason for this correlation between the beauty and results is the following:

First, a beautiful site is an indication of authority. A beautiful site is the best indication that the author behind is compentent and knows her / his business. It lends credibility and makes people at ease.

Second, a beautiful site is an indication of trust. If a site is messy, confusing or sloppy, no-one will trust. And on contrary, beautiful sites drive traffic and sales. Visitors are happy to listen to the advice coming from a beautiful site.

Ultimately, beautiful sites are more likely to get both lots of traffic and good conversion rates. If you are investing your time, make something beautiful with it! 💻💻💻

SOLUTION: Build beautiful sites.

#5. Pay it Forward

This is the most beautiful part of WA - paying forward. What does it mean? First and foremost it is about helping others to succeed. When you help others, you actually learn a lot and you improve your business.

Whenever you are running of steam, or whenever you think you are not having a great day, think whether you can help someone else. This will energize you and will make you more successful! 🏆🏆🏆

SOLUTION: Pay it Forward!

#6. Enjoy your Experience

This is my last, and probably the most important lesson of all.

If you don't enjoy what you do, you will drop it. I can see it by observing successful WA members all of whom seem to be both enjoying their experience and also very proud of their work!

Make sure that you enjoy your affiliate marketing experience. Affiliate marketing is a wonderful activity. First of all, you get an opportunity to discover new things, read about them and share your thoughts with your readers. Where else can you get this experience? Second, you have a chance to create beautiful sites and write valuable content. This benefits society, and enriches your personal sense of achievement. Third, by doing all these great things, you can produce a stream of passive income for many years to come!
