I''m having the same problem after installing my contact form.I wonder if this could be the problem!? My JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in the browser and 'Allow users behind proxy servers to comment is switched on. I'm going to try to install WP Spamshield again and see if this fixes the issue.
You might find the answer in the thread below. They mentioned about the setting in WP SpamShield. Error: javascript and cookies are required in order to post? Hope this helps =)
Dawn,
The message you are getting sounds like a browser issue. Mainly that you haven't enabled either JavaScript or Cookies.
Are you using Firefox or Chrome?
If I were you, I would download a brand new version of Chrome (at https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/), and that will likely fix the problem.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Anh
I'm having the same problem. I use firefox, (I found that chrome doesn't work well with WA) and I just removed and re-downloaded Firefox as Anh suggested. It hasn't helped the problem. I don't like Chrome because it keeps bouncing my blogs around and I have to continually save my drafts in wordpress to be able to read them and use the tool bars. Everything I've tried so far to enable things has shown that my cookies and javascript are enabled already.
Hey there Give It A Go, I'm sorry to hear it isn't working for you. Have you tried Juneyo's method (in the comments)?
Yes I did Anh. All of the things that post suggested I checked over and my site wasn't the problem according to the plug in fixes suggested. I forwarded the information to the person whose site I was trying to comment on just in case the problem was at his end. Thanks, Ange
Hey guys,
I found out the issue and just want to drop by to update you. Kyle just blogged that this has to do with a new WA update that built their own SiteProtection that conflicts with other spam blockers on the site. Comment Issues Fixed, Spam Plugins No More. All the site owners has to do is to deactivate Akismet or WP Spam Shield on their site.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Anh
Thanks Anh. I had already disabled mine so that's probably why mine was working but the person's site who I was trying to comment on mustn't have done so at the time I was trying to comment on theirs. I'm glad it's an easy fix. Ange
Great to hear, Ange! I've also had a frustrating problem submitting a comment before and just ended up giving the site owner a PM via WA.
Cheers,
Anh

Thanks to everyone with all of the helpful tips. For some reason I think the issue may be with the sites of others. Because I've been able to comment on some sites with no problem. But a site I really wanted to share my comment on just continues to give me the same error message.

For some reason when I'm posting images on my website I don't have url link box to add my link to an image. On my other site I can add links to images with no problem. Is it th
All I have to do is click on the image, and then go to the link button, just like linking a word
I recognize that, it's some kind of a glitch, when you keep selecting and de-selecting the picture, it will appear. I scroll a bit up and down, try again, and after 4-5 attempts it appears at my website.
That explains a lot, Loes. Happens quite often. You do things by the book and yet no result until after a lot of tinkering with it.
