Eid Celebrations marks the end of The Holy Month Of Rmamthadan
Fasting Is one of the Ibadats that Moslems Collectively Perform and this is done in the nineth month on the Islamic calender (Hijra) and the month is called Ramathan that lasts for either 29 or 30 days During this period Muslims go without food and drink from dawn (5:25am) to Sunset(6:53pm) this time varies depending on the location of where you stay. This is according to Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) peace be upon him over 1430 years ago.
Its believed that mulslims start their fasting period after sighting the moon and finish this period after the moon is sighted. The moon can be sighted by anyone who is a muslim and believes in Prophet Muhammad (S..AW) peace be upon him.
This years fasting period started on 24th of April 2020 and it has ended today 23rd of May 2020. Unfortuantely this years Celebration is going to be a bit unique due to the ongoing pandemic around the globe that has kept most of the people away from public. In Uganda particulrary where iam now the president in his recent address that was there on 18th and 19th of May 2020 extended the Lockdown for the Next 21days and it is believed to end on around 8th of June 2020.
All Muslims in Uganda have been advised to carry out Eid prayers and celebrations from their Home unlike the recent Eid celebration that muslims would Gather at Mosques and perform Joint prayers this time round the Story is the opposite.
