There is actually a short story behind my interest in making money online.
9 to 5 Blues...
I currently have a 9 to 5, 40 hour work week J-O-B as a salary employee.
Well, recently I found myself in a very familiar situation that a lot of working
parents may find themselves. I was without a babysitter, fortunately only on Mondays.
Don't even ask if vacation or sick days was possible, because vacation and sick days all belonged to my daughter for whatever reason, sound familiar? I haven't had a vacation in years .
I had no other choice than staying home on those days.
CHANGED MY LIFE...
So listen to this, I go to my supervisor who has only been in her position for about a month and I state my case. I offered to work from home considering my job mostly consist of me sitting at a desk working on a computer. ( FYI, I'm writing this in the comfort of my home, by way of my bed ).. ;)
She somewhat seemed to empathize being shes also a parent. " Natasha, she said, I'll see what I can do, as you know I'm the newbie around here". I said, I appreciate it and hoped that my offer would be considered.
It was the Thursday before Halloween and my supervisor called me into her office. "Natasha, I have good and not so good news". I said, no worries let's hear it. Upper management unfortunately denied your request to work from home, however, you are approved to take those days off WITHOUT PAY.
In my head I'm thinking okay what is the good news. I pleasantly said, thank you for looking into this, smiled and walked out of her office.
Honestly, at first I felt some kind of way, almost upset or maybe even rejected. You may think why rejected? If you've ever worked in the Corporate world than you may relate. You work long hours no overtime pay, put in so much of your time trying to make sure you meet crazy deadlines, cater to overwhelming request and somehow makes it happen. Only to be turned down when your needs come to surface and your still trying to look out for the company. Okay I got a little emotional just now typing this :)
But, in the mist of those feelings something triggered in me.
I thought, this time can be spent creating money online to supplement your income and you can work hard for yourself! You won't have to ask if you can take the next few Mondays or even any other day off. Become your own boss, have time for your family, watch your baby girl grow. Once I accepted that I wanted a change, I started doing a lot of research and found one of the most helpful platforms in building wealth online Wealthy Affiliate. Although I know not everyone wishes to work from home, and even if that's not the case it's okay.

Thanks for sharing Natasha. I had my own company for 15 year's before I was recruited for a corporation I worked for, for nine years. Two years ago I got the call to come in an talk with the CEO. Meeting lasted all of five minute's and I was gone. Not the same for me as you, I'm 60 yrs old. Didn't look good for the home team then and it never will again. You can do this. You want this and your decision to better your situation in your life by being here is proof. This is your new extended family and it's a big one. Welcome to the new world.

You've got a great mindset! Sometimes what looks like a hurdle can turn out to be a blessing. I left the corporate world 2 yrs ago and have been working from home since. I am just starting to accept that there is no more "security" in working a 9 to 5 than there is in working for yourself. In fact when you work for yourself the distance between your hard work / great ideas and reaping a reward for that work / idea has never been shorter. Plus the flexibility and time that working from home provides to spend time with my son is priceless. Much success to you and I look forward to hearing about your wins.
