My Week And Fur Babies
I had a bit of a rough week since I was under the weather. I wasn't able to keep up on writing. I tried, but my energy levels really dropped. It might take me a little while to bounce back and get my energy back. I did manage to write an article for the website and work on art. Tomorrow I am going to Jamba Juice and Whole Foods for some fruits and veggies. That should help.
I also thought you might like hearing about my kitties since they have been funny this week. I have two Siamese cats. One of them is very much like a child. If you know anything about Siamese cats, they are very involved in your life. They demand a lot of attention because of their personalities. Both are very much involved in life, they are curious and smart, and they are pretty great companions. The one I am going to tell you about is very much like having a toddler in the house, more so than the other one.
Levi, my toddler does some pretty interesting things. He can carry things so he does. When he wants his back scratched, he will bring his back scratcher to you. Yes, he has his own. When he wants to play with the laser light, he will bring that to you. He very much enjoys holiday bows and tape. He will bring those to you as well. He likes slippers, he knows they are for feet so he sleeps with his feet in your slippers. He does not have his own, but maybe I should get him some.
Levi is also very curious about pretty much everything. He likes to watch you cook. Recently, he has decided that he can help cook, too. He wants to hold your hand while you stir things or use a spatula. He likes to know what you are eating, the names of the food. Once he knows then he will leave you alone. Well, in most cases he will. He IS a noodle thief. He likes to know what you buy from the store and what comes in the mail. If a box comes, he will try to open it himself.
Levi is also very smart and makes choices. He chooses the treat flavors he wants every day. He also chooses the canned food flavor he wants, which he will bring to you. The other day, my husband was pretending he didn't know what Levi wanted and would not give him canned food. So, Levi brought the container to him, set it on the floor, and then bit a hole in it to make sure my husband had to give him some. Levi will help you choose oatmeal flavors and all kinds of other things. He does think about his choices and he will touch the one he decides on with his paw. Sometimes, he likes to have his accessories changed so he will choose the collar he wants to wear sometimes. He also chooses the cap colors for his claws.
Levi also likes play dates....with his friends from upstairs. Oliver and Coraline come down sometimes so all of them can play, they are cats too. Levi makes sure to show Oli any new toys he might have gotten so they can share and play with them together. I never thought you could have play dates with cats, but okay. His friends will be down for a play date soon and he will be thrilled. He loves when they come visit.
Last weekend was an interesting Levi weekend. It got very muggy one day and Levi would not leave a can of tea alone. He was nagging like he does when something has not been put away. I told him there was probably already tea in the fridge and to stop trying to push this can over there. He wouldn't listen, so I checked the fridge and there wasn't any in there. He left me alone when I put the can in the fridge. So, apparently he is keeping an inventory of how much tea is in the fridge for my son and was worried that he didn't have any on a hot day.
I found a sore on Levi's chin last weekend. I assume from playing too rough with Chester. It was very swollen, so I showed him the tube of antibiotic ointment and told him it was for his chin before I put it on. He was good and let me put it on once he knew what it was. A few hours later...guess what he brought me. Yep, the tube of antibiotic ointment for his chin. He didn't poke a single hole in the tube. Good for him! This has become a daily thing, now. He brings the ointment tube to you when he wants it on his chin. I decided to switch over to the herbal ointment that I make since the swelling has gone down to help it heal a little faster. He didn't know what it was, so he ran around the house and hid in the corners and fought with me about it since it was not the same. Tomorrow he will probably be fine with it.
He said this week that he wants new caps on his claws. But, we are still waiting for one to fall off. I told him this when he brought me the package and he pouted for a bit. Last time he picked blue sparkles. I think he should pick a different color this time. He has had blue sparkles for over a month. He also found a piece of dried pasta in the kitchen and decided he wanted pasta. So, he carried it around for quite a while but it was too long. So, he used my husband's shoes to break up his pasta into small pieces. My husband is going to love putting on his shoes tomorrow and having pasta poking his feet. Levi loves pasta, I don't know about him sometimes.
When it comes to Levi, the most common saying is "Why are you like this?" because he is so much like a child. When it is bed time, he lays under the blankets with a pillow and he pets your face until you fall asleep while he tosses and turns because he can't fall asleep. This goes on every night. I am considering reading him a story before bed to see if that will help him go to sleep. He has stuffed animals to sleep with, but he usually throws them around the house. It looks like I have little kids because of his toy box and he is very good at throwing. I gave him his very own blanket this week. This has eliminated the 30 minute tossing and turning routine, he is so happy to have his very own blanket.
Chester is our other Siamese and he very big. He can be a bit rough sometimes. He eats everything, including books. We think he is mixed with a wildcat. They double team us sometimes. Chester knows how to unplug my computer and will try to carry off my mouse for my computer. I know I have been working too long when my cord and mouse have suddenly gone missing.
Chester is very curious about how things work. So, he spends a lot of time watching things. Luckily he doesn't try to take everything apart, but he isn't allowed near electronics. He pulls night lights out of the outlets and anything that looks like an electronic thing is something that interests him. We put ant traps through the house one day, within a few minutes Chester had them all in the middle of the living room floor. Q-Tips are one of his favorite toys and he has figured out how to get them out of the box.
Chester hardly ever talks, when he does...he sounds like a very small monkey. He is a sweet cat and gives you hugs. He is not nearly as much like a child as Levi but he has his interests for sure. Chester doesn't care for being held but he will cuddle with you on the couch once he can find a place for his awkward big self to lay. I don't know how he fits on his scratching post or how he has not broken it yet.
I really love the Siamese cat breed. They are so involved and it is really funny every day. This has been the week with the fur babies.
Have a great week everyone! I hope you had a fantastic week and weekend. :D

They really do. It is amazing how they can integrate in your life the way they do and how accepting they are. Have a great day! :D
What a wonderful post. During some serious fires in our area, our daughter and son-in-law stayed with us are our small dog for 9 weeks. They had 3 cats. Everyone go along. It was lots of fun. I was amazed at the personalities of each cat.

Your cats have personalities all their own, Angela! I think that all cats are like that though. It definitely makes them unique, and there is never a dull moment!
