A Life Lesson Learned!

As a new member for the last couple of months at Wealthy Affiliate, it’s wonderful to see all the success stories people are achieving knowing one day I will be there. What made it even better is when I was selected for S.A.C. which stoked me even more.

As a newbie, this can only get better. Going through the training has been a lot of fun and interesting since I am a computer geek by nature. I know by working hard, dedicating the time needed, and continuing to learn how the processes work would lead me to success. By far, the community has been awesome with the provided help and encouragement.

Like any new business, whether it’s traditional or online, you have your ups and your downs. While training and working through the first month of the S.A.C., I discovered a weakness that will try to prevent my advancement.

Time has not been an issue because I work to get in at least 15 hours a week to complete my

tasks and work on my site while I work my 2 current jobs and spend time with my family. The training courses are not an issue because I am having fun learning a lot about the business and processes that will make me successful. It was not hard to identify my weakness while writing a post about the biggest setback in business. For me, it’s creative writing.

I never been a huge reader of books as I grew up and I would spend a lot of time writing papers for school. I have difficulties coming up with topics to discuss and express my ideas in writing. As I read the blogs on WA, they are all inspiring to continue building and improving my skills to be successful. By the end of the day, my problem is coming up with topics to blog about people would enjoy.

I started falling behind and getting frustrated trying to figure out what to do to complete my tasks, not just for S.A.C., but for myself. I was feeling trapped in a hole without a ladder to escape.

While working on our trampoline today before heading to bed because I work night shift, I was

telling my 14 year-old daughter my issues. During our conversation, she said something that struck a nerve and the light bulb went off. I honestly could not believe that I did not see this before, especially as I continue to read the blogs on WA. She said, “Dad, just be yourself! Whatever comes to mind, put it on paper.” There it was…a sign of inspiration that I hope will help me out of this rut onto a road for recovery. Inadvertently, I provided similar advice to a community member recently about their website.

So, here it is, my first blog post on WA and more to come shortly. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Thank you!

Mike

Out of the mouth of babes!! She is so right. I enjoyed reading this post, especially to read that you wrote: "I work to get at least 15 hours a week to complete my tasks and work on my site while I work my 2 current jobs and spend time with my family."

I have been struggling to get caught up on my SAC articles completed but if you can do it with all you have to do, so can I.

Thanks for the inspiring post! Keep up the Excellent Writing!

Thank you. As of right now, I am planning out my week because the number of task I need to complete including SAC. I know in the long run it will be beneficial. Plus, knowing I have the community to turn to when I need help.
