Hi guys/girls
I have recieved a message on goolge search console, tellings me that content wider than screen on some of my mobile pages. How do I fix this?
Is there
The most common cause of this is a wide image that stretches the layout. Use a mobile device, take a look at your website & see what the widest element is.
All you need to do to find the widest element is scroll as far right as you can on your mobile - then scroll down. Which object is it that's causing the page to stretch? Then once you've figured that out you can see how to fix it.
This is pretty fundamental and you may already know this however I thought I’d share it anyway. Go to google and type in http://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly. It will ask you to put in the URL for your site. Sometimes very steams are not mobile friendly but this will tell you if your theme is.
Sorry about that..well, looks like you may need to contact tech support at WA regarding the theme you're using. Good luck.
your site is obviously not 'Mobile Friendly'

Hi Robert
I downloaded and activated the plugin. I ran a re-validation on google search console and validation has successfully restarted. Will get full report in a few days.
Must say it looks okay on my mobile, not as it used to be, but should at least be acceptable to google and readers.
Thanks for the advice, awesome to have such supportive people on your side.
All the best Robert!

When I check out my google search console I get a message saying 'clickable elements too close together on the mobile version. I get a lot of information regarding this problem
I got the same message stating the same 3 issues and i switched to a different theme and changed the font size for my text from an 18 to a 20. The other 2 two issues "Clickable elements too close together and content wider than screen" were resolved when I switched the theme.
What i did when picking out a theme (if you decide to go that route) was do a live preview on my computer and my device both to see how it looks before activating.
I custom resized my logo header using custom css on my old theme and that was apparently the problem as I could see that it was too wide on my android. So I won't be making that mistake again and stay with the default size so it displays properly on my device.
Brad
Hi Brad
Thanks for sharing. I have also changed my theme and learned a valuable lesson with that.
So many things to take into consideration when wanting do to anything.
All the best for you
William
I Had something similar, My links were migrating, of their own accord, down my page so that images were picking up links from items above.
I just spaced out the images and re-did the links and it was OK. I had to remove the links rather than revising them, not sure why?
One of the experts on here will provide a better description.
Regards Mike
I would imagine it means that there are too many links too close together as far as I know. If it isn't I'm sure the rest of the community will correct me

Recently received feedback from 'google search console' that 'text is too small' on mobile version of my website.
Please advice how to fix?
I also got a message from google console team about the text size and a couple other issues and followed Marion's instructions as well. After imputing some css codes and finding a more compatible theme, google console validated the text size and two other mobile issues as fixed. Good to go.
Onwards and upwards, Brad
Hi Marion,
Thank you, this content is exactly what I was looking for.

Guys I have figured it out. If ever in my situation and don't know what to do. See the screenshot attached.
To adjust the font size on mobile view you'll need to add some css code. Just perform a Google search. Another way would be to get a paid theme that allows you to adjust typography for mobile.
Hi Rubber
I have realized that. To just buy would be easier, but want to do programming part. If you know where I can find this code on google please let me know.
I have searched but not with great luck.
don't always jump when gogle says jump.
check it out yourself.
if you look at your site on a mobile is your text too small?
they should have backed that statement up with a ' in our opinion'.
remember this is a machine so if you are one pixel too small - you are too small.
will it affect your seo - a small percentage.
should you spend loads of time making a child theme- messing about with the font sizes to make them bigger and responsive.
only if you have time.
more important to get quality content onto your site.
good luck
phil
Text is too small. Checked it out myself.
According to my judgement, I wouldn't mind the zooming in but would like to get it fixed due to fact that most users do searching from a mobile device.
