Finding success with manual pinning
For those that are new to the world of online marketing, I wanted to share that I have found a lot of success this week with manual pinning on Pinterest.
I have been reading a lot about Pinterest lately as I had found that much of my traffic had been coming from the platform unintentionally. I am not at the point yet that I want to be investing in a program like Tailwind or Boardbooster just because I don't feel that I have enough content. I have however found a lot of information about manual pinning and I'm seeing great results. Keep reading if you want to hear about the strategy that has taken my traffic from a few views a day to a few hundred a day (I know a few hundred isn't much but it's a lot better than the numbers I was getting!)
Step One
Search Group Pinterest Boards on Facebook and ask to join as many as you can.
Step Two
In Pinterest create 5-10 of your own boards on a variety of content, some of which directly related to your site content and some not.
Step Three
Start pinning! From what I've read and from the results I'm seeing, Pinterest likes it when people are actively involved on their platform. For the last week or so I have spent about a half hour every day on my feed pinning things to both my own boards and the group boards that I have been added to through the Facebook groups. The rule of thumb that I have been following is for every two things I pin that aren't mine I pin something that I have created.
Once a Day
Once a day I search something in my niche on Pinterest. When something comes up that has a lot of followers, I follow many of the people that are following that person (like 50). I have found that many people on Pinterest will follow you back if you follow them.
As I said, I am new to this. No promises that this is the best way to do this or that I won't change my strategy as I get farther in but for right now this is working very well and I'm excited to learn more! I hope this is helpful to someone out there!
Have a great day!
Jen

This is a great strategy for manual pinning on Pinterest. I hope your pins are Rich Pins because they can be stolen if not. I did a training on how to do it. Very simple.
I have now moved to Tailwind and Boardbooster as they save me time and my pins go a lot further within Pinterest.
With Grace and Gratitude

Thanks for the insight - I've just started a Pinterest account, but haven't had a clue as to the best way to use it. But this helps! Thank you for sharing.
I found the same thing. Got onto Pinterest and people I don't even know are hitting the same pins. I also am not at that stage. But anything helps. That s great. Thank you. Hang in there.
