Yesterday, OpenAI introduced GPT-4o Mini, a new version of their language model. This model is designed to be more efficient and cost-effective while still providing powerful capabilities.
TLDR: it's 60% cheaper than GPT3.5 Turbo. $0.15 per 1M input, $0.60 per 1M output tokens

I am still a ChatGPT 3.5 user refusing to pay for AI other than in WA. But I'll have to try being a mini-me in GPT. LOL
I like Claude Sonnet 3.5 for generating graphics and it's free for 10 prompts every 4 hours. And I think there is a free plan for 4o

Abie, Julian Goldie came out with a review of it today. That's what I am basing my comments on the quality of the content generator.
One other thing that this is good for is admin tasks since it's cheaper and if you already have a Open AI API you can use it. I am going to experiment with make in my copious spare time and see how I can use this.
That's fabulous, Michael! I will see how it may help me with my daily tasks. One more tool to add to the Arsenal :)

Some of the reviews show that it's not great at generating text compared to other models like Claude or Chat 4o, but it's faster and cheaper.
Zimmwriter has integrated it in as of today so I will try it. I am using 3.5 Turbo for a lot of my content generation. Not really happy with it, too much fluff. So we will see if this is better.
It is too bad that Zimm Writer is not available for Macs. It's for PC users only, and it has part of my last name, GRRR. Maybe I should create my full last name and then add Writer for Mac users. Finding a developer to create AI software like that would be a lot of money to invest. To find investors willing to take the calculated risk to invest in my last name writer for Mac users only, LOL 🤣
You can run windows under parallels or other virtual machine programs. Other people have had success using Wine on a mac.
Others have thrown up their hands and spent $200 for a cheap windows laptop.
But yeah this is a common complaint about Zimmwriter. Matt Zimmerman's implicit response is that limited resources are better spent improving the single product rather than maintaining two. And most of the community agrees.
Matt has my last name, so now you know it. It's my late hubby's name. I have not used Wine to run two different operating systems on my MacBook Pro, to run Windows. I wouldn't pay a dime to get a PC, no way. It's Apple all the way. I've been using Apple for years. Well, Matt, who has my last name, is wrong. I'm afraid I have to disagree with him. He should have ZimmWriter setup for Mac users, all other systems are compatible with both. He's an idiot! 🤬

Also, ChatGPT-4o Mini cannot directly incorporate DALL-E 3. It will give you the prompt it would use to create the image from text. You can use it with a stand-alone AI image generator.

with Zimmwriter you can choose the image generator separately. They have one that is 3/10 cent per graphic. So I use that and it's decent and no text to mess up

Hi Abie,
They do have a lifetime deal. I’m doing what I did for WA. I’m paying monthly for the first few months just to make sure. The only issue I have so far is they have something called Penny arcade that allows you among other things to give it a bunch of URLs and it can either summarize them or generate new posts from them.
It needs to use a scraper to get to the post and it fails on one of my three sites They have tried to help, and I probably need to go back and get some more help. But it seems to work very well.
The other thing I’ve noticed is that the mimic feature doesn’t work as well as I would like it to. This is a feature where you can feed it some of your text and tell it to write like that. I am asking it to write on an eighth grade reading level but it writes on about a 12th or 13th grade level. It’s possible that the problem is there’s a conflict that the niche is It doesn’t know how to write on that lower level.
It has an amazingly rich feature set and lots of bells, whistles, and knobs. If these are the only problem, it’s a no-brainer for $25/mo plus API costs.

I meant to try it. Look at his website. One of the menu items is "secret training". It's not secret. You can see what it does and how it works.
It's not for the faint of heart as they say. It does have a one click post generator, but even that has a bunch of checkboxes, choices for images, which GPT to use, etc.
Yeah, I will try it this weekend and see if it is something I can utilize. That is excellent. Thanks for the extra tips. My GPT 4o mini is temperamental, lol—it worked once today, and that's it. There may be too many people trying it out.
