Happy January 2025! My month looking back

So this month I jettisoned all but my mini pc blog. Why? Because a) no time b) no clear path to monetization in anything else right now.
I barely have time for the one niche because of other issues (family health, HOA projects).
OK so what do we have?
Traffic:
First lets look at Bing. 864 clicks this month vs 564 the month before
Google: 364 vs 117 the month before
Clarity: 2900 sessions vs 1600 the month before
Pinterest: Up by 150%. 36 clicks, 17K impressions
OK so what happened?
1. I added a new subniche
2. I am posting twice a day
3. 2 pins a day
4. I converted all of my pay pages to use AAWP
What didn't work? I lost traffic on YouTube. It was around 10-15 hours a day, it's now around 7. So I pulled back from trying to do 3 videos a week to 1-2 a week.
I also haven't been posting to medium much. That only accounts for about 1% of my traffic and it takes a bit more effort than I have time for right now.
OK you want to know about the money, right? OK.
So I sold 27 items last month for about $54 in commissions. Plus a $50 bonus for selling over $1500 in merchandise from Amazon for a total of $104 this month. That compared to $27 last month which was just a little less than my average for last year.
What am I going to do to make this better?
- I just started a new social media campaign in the subniche with 3 posts a day on each of Pinterest, LinkedIn, Facebook, and BlueSky. Extends out to early march, I have 500 more posts waiting.
Why didn't I push them all? Because I was afraid it would break, and it did. The automated tool didn't catch that BlueSky only allows 300 characters, so every pin was rejected. I am in the process of updating the queued posts (only 3 were rejected before I caught it), and then I will update the next 500 before I submit it. (FYI I am using a tool called Sociamonials from AppSumo)
- I am updating my home page. It's not pretty. And it accounts for 3% of my traffic right now.
- I really need to get better at making videos, and maybe this is an opportunity to do this, go through some more training
