Blue Sky, the next Twitter (I'll never say X)
(Image: Bluesky logo)
Blue sky is a new short text post site that has exploded in the last few weeks as many people leave twitter.
One cool feature is the ability (for FREE!) to link your website to an account. You just need to follow the steps and have the admins at WA load a short text file onto your website.
Once you do that, you can start posting. It's mostly manual, unless you're a python maven (they do have an API). But there is at least one app that allows you to automate schedules to it. That app is called SocialBee. I am just investigating it now.

I created an account, but it may or may not stay dormant. This reminds me of the threads release, there is news about it and interest at first, and then it waned because it was "another version" of what was already being done.
Unless it is something unique and has a unique selling proposition, I am not sure that it will gain a lot of traction. Time will tell, but I am sure we as a community are going to stay on top of this.
Keep us posted Michael :)
Pardon my french, but all I get from Threads is being hit on. Believe me I am no prize LOL...
So far I have connected with a few people on Blue Sky. But you are right. Blue Sky has two things going for it that make it attractive. It's not run by a big organization, and second, people are fleeing X and coming to it.
I also see what @TheAmazingMG means. I stay away from most of the politics on BlueSky. On X its like swimming in a sewer, they push it at you and you can't avoid it.
There are a few smart people I subscribe to who happen to be somewhat political but have other things going for them as well. I just try to get past it.
Who exactly is fleeing X? Just as active as ever from what I see. Elon has done a great job cleaning Twitter up rebranding or not.
I made a couple of threads about a SEO post I wrote, I was hit by SEX rights hate groups because word SEO was close to SEX and they did not approve. I have zero time for politics and hate groups. This is even worse than twitter. Regardless what your views are on any subject, there is absolutely no room for hate and ugliness.
At least X is monitored for this behaviour, Bluesky it appears not to be.
Michael
I disagree about people fleeing X. Sorry, but all the people who I see bragging about moving to Blue Sky just make me not want to waste my time on it (present company excluded!).
Well said, Jeannine! I hear you, big time!
It's good to hear from you, I hope you're doing well and your new business venture is coming together. I believe you have much to offer.
Wishing you all the best.

Well I see it as an opportunity. They are up to 22 million subscribers. Still a drop in the bucket compared to the other two but it has potential
Thank you, Roy, the business is coming along well. I already am managing 10 affiliate programs with 2 more coming in January. I had planned to manage 6 and instead have 12, and I love it!
Hope you are well and that everything is going great for you too!
I'm really pleased to hear that, Jeannine! That's great that you have doubled your planned number of programs to manage, well done. I hope you continue to post on Wealthy Affiliate, as I feel you have something of great value to bring to the table.
Everything is fine at this end, thank you.
Wishing you a great day and continued success.

That sounds like quite a few subscribers in a short time, Michael. It's good to have platforms that allow free speech, whether we agree with what someone is saying or not. I like being able to debate and here both sides of the story and what the options are, etc.
Have a fantastic day.
Roy
I have already joined and left the platform due to an issue. If you think "X" is politically charged, just wait and experience Bluesky.
I do not care for it.
Michael
They are a lot smaller than Twitter or Threads, only about 20 million right now. But they were a lot smaller a few weeks ago.

Good morning Michael,
I must admit I hadn't heard of Blue Sky until a few days ago, but I didn't know what it was! There are so many platforms out there, it's a job to know what platform to be on. I have a few dormant social media platforms that I registered with and started using, but I don't use them any more now.
I've always liked Twitter, as it is so much easier to use than Facebook and much quicker. I must admit I was pleased when Elon Musk took over, as it wasn't a free platform any more. I believe that Elon wanted to make it a free platform for everyone, whatever political side that you are on. When Jack owned Twitter, it was a very one-sided platform, I believe it's much better now.
I know that some people are upset with the election results, but I'm actually delighted, even though I live in the UK. This is causing some people to leave Twitter, but they will probably return when they realise the other platforms don't have the same traction.
The problem with social media is that we can so quickly lose time when we could be publishing to our website, but that's another story.
A very happy Sunday to you and thank you for your blog post; we never stop learning!
Roy
