Well I didn't see this coming.
TLDR:
- Sales increased on Amazon because I'm consistent on YouTube
- Book that I didn't expect to publish generated sales
- One website and one pinterest account still generating clicks
- One website and one pinterest account showing promise
15 sales on Amazon (3 of the commissions should be realized in September)
2 returns on items that I didn't have links for, but that's how Amazon works sometimes.
A book published, something I don't think I saw in the beginning of the month.
Result? $69.54 Not a king's fortune, but a start. A bit disappointing on paper.
If either of the 2 pending orders shipped.
If one of the 2 returns hadn't happened.
If I had sold one more book
Or people had read 100 more pages of my book on Kindle unlimited...
But I never expected to get to $70 this month. So I can't cry over it.
Instead I am looking at the opportunities ahead of me. I am marketing the book on my website, my facebook page, and my pinterest site.
On other fronts.
I tried an ad on facebook. No sales, lots of likes, only 2 new followers. So didn't work, but it's only $7.
I tried an ad on youtube. This one was definitely a long shot. It's garnered me a LOT of video views. Almost 1000. And I did get over 100 clicks to my website. And I'd hoped that like real estate, that with 100 clicks I would make a sale from 1 of 100 leads. But it didn't happen. This was an $800 PC. Probably not something that can happen in the 24 hours Amazon gives you on your cookie, but it was worth a shot. And it shows it works.
Next month, I will try it next on items that have sold and see if that works.
I kind of let Pinterest and Medium go this month.
Oh I did have a few new medium posts, and I ended up where I started, around 18 reads a day.
I seemed to have gotten hit by the pinterest HCU, but my traffic on my cyber pins is just down a bit, my clicks and saves on my cyber pins are way up (and that's GOOD because that's where my book is!)
My hydroponics pins are pretty much dead, and mini pcs (which I pretty much ignored) seems to have improved in the last week in impressions so maybe I should start pinning there again?
I can only do so much, but it's good to see things moving in the right direction. Kind of.
All three of my blogs make great landing pages for now.
I am starting to see a glimmer on the hydroponics. Impressions are rising.
Cybersecurity clicks are down, impressions are down. Maybe 30%, so not horrible. Can still use it to publicize my book.
Mini pcs haven't recovered. It's just dead.
Now for the magic. Youtube!! Consistency is paying off. One long video a week. Views are up 35%, watch time up over 10%.
The real indicator is... sales.
$38 last month on 413 clicks - 14 items ordered and no returns
$46 this month on 614 clicks - 16 items orders and 2 returned
IMHO all the clicks are coming from YouTube, so I need to keep that going and figure out how to leverage it.
Onward! This stuff can work if you have the time (and I don't right now for a variety of reasons)

Not going to update the post. But... I should have waited until morning. One of the products shipped, so I made it to $70.
This is very encouraging Michael! Success is never a constant exponential upward graph. Keep it up!
Nope it's not a constant. I know where my initial sales came from and I ran out of friends and relatives, so have to figure out how to market the book.

We have more similarities than meets the eye. My finance sheet looks eerily similar, we joined right about the same time, we rank closely the same, and are pursuing some of the same avenues. (different niches).
My last Instagram post had 1400+ views, I have 2 Medium accounts.
One is for reading money, the other has affiliate links and product reviews. The affiliate side is slightly ahead money-wise, but both are supporting themselves.
YouTube garnering my focus. The latest short over there has 600 views, Becoming quite familiar with Canva, I did pay for the upgrade. It has been beneficial.
All in I am breaking even when I include the cost of WA. Thank you for sharing, and knowing our tracks are on par.
