1000 Clicks, but so what?
Well the good news is, I finally got to 1000 clicks in 28 days on Google. Looks like my traffic is slowly rising.
But.
After getting sales for 16 days in a row, it just, stopped. No idea why.
Even on a day with over 200 sessions and 250 page views? Nothing.
Makes no sense to me. Did Amazon put a curse on me? No messages through amazon affiliates, nothing on my email either. I see I am getting paid, just got that email today. So my amazon email is working.
And I am getting clicks into Amazon. over 75 the last 2 days of February. Doesn't sound like much, but I had an 7% conversion rate. That surprised me too that it was that high.
So I should have had 5 sales. Something changed??
But it was a little under 4% in January and 2% in December.
Hopefully it's just a dry spell. Good reason to consider diversifying to other affiliates I guess!

Good morning Michael,
Thank you for your very honest and real blog post, it's appreciated.
I have always found this type of behaviour happening with websites, I wouldn't worry too much. Even with my off-line business, I may not receive a call for a few days, but then I might receive four calls in 15 minutes, literally! It doesn't make sense, but that's what it seems to be like.
I know it's very encouraging when we make a sale, but sometimes we are better off to not look too much at stats and focus on the job ahead, in other words, writing content.
Have a great day.
Roy
You will get anomalies like this, and you cannot panic. One thing you should be aware of is that there was the "economic blackout" day on Feb 28th, where people were avoiding amazon or buying through platforms of the big box stores, and encouraged to shop locally. I actually know many people personally that took part in this, so it was likely widespread.
Then that flowed directly into the weekend. So I think things will start to pick up for you come Monday, but do know that things like this can happen as the standard deviation can be from 0 sales to many (on a daily basis), until you are getting even more sizeable traffic than you are now.
Thanks for sharing the progress, Michael. Weird things do happen. My traffic has gone down to almost zero impressions after that spike for four days in a row, promising results with my ads.
I don't also know what I did wrong. It might be our fault. It might not be ours. But these things are part of the thing, the affiliate marketing process. Things work and things don't work for some reason.
Forward and upward!
John
Yes I have made sales two days in a row after a 3 day dry spell. So I think it was related to the Amazon strike.
Lesson learned. Need to diversify my affiliate marketing.
