Doubt kills more dreams than failure will

Now, doubt is when you start to question yourself. You might wonder, "Can I really do this? Am I good enough? What if I fail?" Doubt is like a heavy cloud that can block out the sun of your dreams. It can make you feel uncertain and afraid to even try.
Failure, on the other hand, is when you give something your best shot but things don't turn out the way you hoped. It's like stumbling or making a mistake along the way. Failure might be disappointing, but it's a natural part of learning and growing.
Here's the important part: Doubt often stops you before you even begin. It's like a gatekeeper that says, "No, you can't do this." It keeps you from taking that first step toward your dream. Failure, on the other hand, is just a roadblock on the path to your dream. You can learn from it and find another way around.
Think about famous inventors like Thomas Edison. He tried thousands of times before he finally invented the light bulb. If he had doubted himself and given up early on, we might still be using candles!
So, the message here is simple: Don't let doubt hold you back from chasing your dreams. Embrace failure as a teacher that helps you get closer to your dream. Believe in yourself, take that first step, and keep going. Dreams can come true if you have the courage to try and the strength to bounce back from setbacks.

I wasn’t born with an over abundance of confidence. I was taught at an early age that I could succeed at anything with hard work and dedication.

Another excellent post, Marioi! Doubt isn't what slows me down, but rather the reality of massively rising property taxes and inflation, which causes me to figure out "work-arounds" to achieve my goals!

Doubt is always there, whispering in your ear, "You can't do this. All of these people are smarter than you. They can do it, but you can't because you don't have a creative bone in your body. You're a loser. You've always been a loser, and you'll die a loser. Give up. Quit. C'mon - who are you fooling? Give up. You always give up. Go watch TV all day; it's so much easier to just--give--up!"
But you can't listen to doubt, or doubt's evil cousin, procrastination. And these are just words. There are people who resemble these words. They would call you "friend", but they are not.
Rock your best life. Be free of doubt and follow your dreams, but remember---dreams without action are just empty wishes.
